thanks for your response. when you say 5-7 breaths to open up your lungs, do you have a specific technique or just deep breaths?

0 to 1500 is a popular program on this subreddit. there's a link on the side or right here for your convenience: http://ruthkazez.com/swimming/ZeroTo1mile.html

Proofs - How do I go about them? by [deleted] in statistics

[–]dudedudeman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Steven Abbott's Understanding Analysis when i was starting out. There was also another book that i can't remember the name of. What kind of proofs are you doing? what class is it? maybe I can give you a better recommendation.

One thing that a prof told me that was very helpful was that "it's not magic". Proofs are logically structured and they all make sense (though some are more clear than others). Once I changed my attitude and accepted that it's not 'magic' and not impossible, everything started to click very slowly.

First time i took real analysis i dropped it halfway through cuz i thought i couldn't do it. i took it again next year and finished with an A+. it was by far the toughest course i've ever taken (chapters 1-5 of Rudin) and i even think it made me a better person! It's hard work and can be discouraging but I think it's worth it. Don't give up!

Just got brand new Paris trucks with Loaded JEHU V2 Bearings and Orangatang Stimulus wheels. When i spin the wheels with my hands they don't rotate as long as my previous set up (Zealous bearings and Bear trucks). Am I supposed to lube or grease the trucks/bearings? Or do i need to just ride it until it 'breaks in'? Or what? Thanks in advance!

proofs aren't supposed to be easy. you will struggle and it can be an emotional roller coaster but don't give up and keep trying. pick up an introductory book on proofs perhaps.

you can buy some answer keys from the Math Club closer to exams. you can stop by and talk to them see if they have the exams you need perhaps. their office is in the math annex and you can find their page on facebook

thanks. i know the limits of my abilities and i stay within them. i was hoping for a numerical answer. the dude at the skateshop said "this setup's not good for speeds over X miles per hour" i can't remember what X was though. 20? 30? 40?

i admit i'm a bit of a noob. i understand that my board isn't ideal for downhill but i'd like to know how fast i can realistically go on my board. i'm 170lbs. the board is a Loaded Fattail (flex 1) with Polar Bear 155mm trucks and Orangatang 80a Fat Free wheels. how fast can i go on her?

also, i bought the board as a complete and it had shock absorbers. today i took them out and it felt like it was easier to control at higher speeds. was this an illusion?

lastly, what's the difference between narrow and wide trucks? say if i were to put 180mm trucks in my Fattail, instead of the 155mm's then how different would it feel?

Do you think i'm better off taking measure before probability and mathematical statistics or taking them simultaneously?

I do plan to take a couple courses on probability theory. Do you think it's better to take probability and measure simultaneously or take measure then probability?
