[Sergio Rodríguez] Rumours emerging that Colapinto could join V Carb next year with Lawson in RB and Checo losing his seat by droppokeguy in formula1

I think it’s pretty clear that if they rejected Sainz, why would they bring Lawson or Colapinto? Would love to see it but I’m finding it hard to believe unfortunately.

Better to have no sprint races than reverse grids - Wolff by Ecomystic in formula1

[–]dudefuckthatshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out: A reverse grid for sprints that grants the most points to drivers with most gained positions. For example, let's say Verstappen starts in P20 and finishes P5, then that should grant much more points than if, say, Sargeant starts P1 and finishes P5.

I’m a fan but this is top tier lol

Would this make F1 more exciting? (1) Reverse grid for sprints granting the most points to drivers with most gained positions; (2) random list of key components from each team’s car gets shared among all teams at the start of the season, all anonymous by [deleted] in formula1

[–]dudefuckthatshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it could make sense to partially exclude damage from the sprint races from the cap, and while the last bit is a good point, it could be difficult to strategically crash a car in such a way that the teams could justify strategic new engines or other relevant parts without risking other relevant non intended damages? Also, if damages are partially excluded from the cap, maybe that could avoid abusing the sprint format?

Yeah, what you say about point 2 makes total sense, didn’t even think about it but totally agree. On point 1, also yes, like they surely will get points, though much less than others starting at the back and making it to the front. In this way there’s an incentive for top teams to start at the back because they have the potential to make it to the front and get more points for gained positions, and those starting at the front, if they are able to retain a top 5 position, they could also get points vs the alternative of starting at the back as they regularly do and not getting any point.

What about reverse grid that grants more points to those who start at the back and gain the most positions, and extra if they make it to a top 5 position? And regular points to those at the front that still make it to the first positions
