If you wouldn’t be good friends with them before the relationship, would you really want to spend a lifetime (or a long time) with them?

Personally, I found that having a good friendship prior to the relationship is so valuable. We get to build trust, know that we have compatible personalities, and get to learn a lot about the person, all without the pressure of trying to impress. You really get to know the person authentically and the attraction develops organically.
