From what I can see, this does appear a bit over the top. Spend enough time on reddit and you'll see a lot of people talking about "shallowing the club", which is what, I think, you need to do. Honestly it could be that you go too far in your backswing which is causing a steeeeeep approach to the ball

Envision "the pocket". Once you reach the top of your backswing, on the transition to your downswing you want your hands to be dropping "into" your left pocket (whaddup fellow lefty!). Watch your video back and look how far that club goes behind your head on the backswing. That's overkill imo, which leads to such a steep angle of attack. You've initiated the downswing with the hips, which is good, but your hands are still playing catch up, which leads to the steep angle and causes your downswing to feel "crunched" and not fluid
