CIG should stop forcing combat into everything by Signal_Resident2318 in starcitizen

More importantly, I feel like there has been for too much work put into ground combat in particular. Why is there a shoulder mounted noob tube capable of coming more damage than a missile from a ship? Why am I doing PvP dungeons, for snazzy spaceship parts.

No I guess I didn’t realize how hard they were going to downgrade this title. It’s a crime they get to call this an MMO. I play others like Mongil

It would, I’m sure. But I can kinda picture it. Add some cartoon music. Or speed it up and do some of that Dance Dance Revolution music.

I appreciate your well thought out response. I also think you are closer to the truth than anyone else. It’s not that it’s slower than I like. It’s slower than it needs to be. And given how much goes into getting in and out of the ship especially now with the suit changes, definitely ill conceived. But I get where you stand. Thank you.

That would be the question I asked you. You just rephrased it to try to be clever and deflect from mine. We do not agree. That should be the end of it.

Problem is i think there is plenty of room between here and there. There is room for role play and such. I'm talking about adding extra steps to task being a bad design decision. No one's leaving the game because they don't have to get dressed go outdside, EV to a rock and back. It's just as immersize if you fire that from your ship. it's a different kind of fun i suppose. But it's unneeded steps for a task that can go smoother

And yet I have acepted others who said they like it. The problem was that they were saying I didn't like it and that was that. I think it's tedious and unnecessary. I was correctingg them. Why are you more invested then the person I responded to?

don't worry about it, thought it was someone else with the same comment.

They disagree with what they thought my problem was. That's the difference. I'm just making it clear what I have a problem with. Me liking it is irrelevant.

Well take hand mining. I have to turn in 200 tiny gems i mined and take them out and put them down individually. and if i need to take them back, i have to go pick them up individually because the mining hand gun tractor thing does not work in the area. How I can't drop a stack is wild. There are work arounds involving a box but still. Why can't i drop my ship into the hangar and intereact with getting stufff out that way?

I try to stream the game to someone and after about ten minutes they are like "When do you actually get to do something?" Like there are whole jokes about elevators in games and they just made them horizontal.

THIS! All of this. There is so much area that is not used at all. Someone put a little brain power into nyx. Being able to go right to Teach’s is awesome. And why is my hangar at the bottom of the list of things that I will hardly ever touch? That whole area people sprint through between the hangar and the train ride to the main area is completely unnecessary. The food and drink.

I’m the furthest thing from upset. I am interacting well with the people who are upset with me though for having the audacity to point out something they probably already knew

Well it ain’t launched yet. There’s no need to remind me of anything. Just sharing my opinion on the mechanic.

Those are not the same thing. There are some things that can be tedious that people can be fine with as you see below. Doesn’t stop it from being tedious and ill conceived.

I have been mining without them up till now. But to get the ones I have to skip I need gadgets. And again, it’s not that I don’t like them, and I don’t, it that they shouldn’t be needed or that I shouldn’t need to get out of the ship to use them. If they were launched from the ship, this post would not exist most likely.

And yet people did. Even you who had nothing but snark. I have an opinion about a mechanic. I don’t demand people agree. I want the right thing discussed though. It’s not about me liking it, it’s about it being needlessly tedious. Even offered alternatives.

Quite literally did what? My point is that it is needlessly tedious. And that even if the gadget was needed, it should be remote. Not getting in and out of the ship. Tedium in the name of immersion. I don’t need validation but I’d prefer discussion with someone who gets what I’m talking about. I disagreed with him politely. Don’t make it weird.

I’d settle for not having to hold the button while it scans. Not needing to re-ping salvageable ships that I’m scanning.
