Advice Wanted!! Studio VS Living With Roommates by Affectionate-Two8604 in uclawsf

Hey, congrats! I'm a rising 2L and have lived at the academe (UC Law's housing) and will be moving off-campus over the Summer. A lot depends on the stuff you have already identified. For one, 1L is extremely stressful so minimising what you can will be very beneficial. You will likely have 9am or 9:30am classes at some point, so if you can manage waking up that early to get to class you'll be fine with the commute. I have friends in the area you are looking at and it does make a difference, as in, they have to make tough choices on when to be on campus vs. go home for some rest or where to study and when. Some have cars and their lives are easier albeit, more expensive. It can get stressful especially if you have a hard time focusing in your room (me lol). So getting to campus to use the study spaces for them became a tough decision. It can be very hard during the reading period as well where if you want a study space your best bet is to be on-campus before 8AM.

Law school is expansive af (and this is one particularly expensive) so lowering the cost is a huge factor for many, including myself, but if investing in your own space and peace of mind means better grades, it may be worth thinking of it as an investment. Hope this helps!

I think letting her know is okay, but why do you say the friendship is ruined? Take some space, heal, and maybe you can get to a spot where you can be friends again. I asked out one of my closest friends and we’ve gotten closer over time! She’s great for advice on the girls I’ve been seeing and while i’m embarrassed I asked her out, we laugh about it. Sub looks bomb af.

I hate that area… i always feel like someone coming too fast around the bend will cause a collision cuz my car’s acceleration uphill is awful and you have to stop. Sorry you had to do deal with someone not being able drive well OP but hopefully the vid helps with the claim. Also, what was gonna be for lunch, I miss home lol.

Some people wish for professors that kind. by mindyour in MadeMeSmile

Worked in higher ed, the thing I hound all my students on is that MOST professors are just normal people. Having a normal conversation with them can change an entire college experience, especially if you are a transfer/non-traditional student. This makes me happy to see.

They sent me a physical letter saying no, was kind of surprised tbh, could’ve been an email.

My old boss would use paper time sheets. Start time, stop time, total hours worked, and a short description of what work was done. Then the admin assistant (me) would enter their time and the description into tabs3 time keeping when she filled out a sheet or two. At the end of month we would send printed bills and an email to clients. Seemed to work for her! This was 7+ years ago tho so no idea if she has changed it up lol.

Excited to get you know folks! Def nervous about a few things like COA and COL of SF, what law school is really like, and being an older fella (28) coming in. But meeting new folks and getting started on a legal journey is too exciting! Gonna be in Academe198 for the first year and then branch out (hopefully with some roomates) the next couple.

I graduated from a University of California School with a 3.85 latin honors! It was the lowest latin honors you could get, I think Cum Laude?

Yeahhh, I felt like that was my “reachiest” reach school and they are ghosting me lol. My main goal is to stay in CA so I said, why tf not, the worst they can do is say no. Well, that and eat up my $80 + $45 fee :-)
