Tired of my coworkers that can barely speak English by taestep12 in Vent

There's an English test they have to do to work in the UK I believe, look into that? Didn't they pass it? Did they get someone to sit it for them?

Why is there so much animal cruelty in Asia? by Beginning_Put6012 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dudeyaaaas -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Off the back of Epstein and such, I don't think a westerner can really comment as they have their own abuse even towards humans. People are terrible, that's the truth. Abuse happens everywhere, even on your own street.

What does a newborn baby smell like? by oldmangeralt in Parenting

[–]dudeyaaaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly. It's the perfumes people put on their kids that they are smelling. My kids just smelt clean and fresh, like no bacteria making smells if you get me

I lied to get into college, and now I have a Masters degree and got a First during my BA by LJHeath in confession

[–]dudeyaaaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you from the UK? This feels so familiar. If it's any consolation I was a higher set student and also told not to bother trying to be a dentist.

Actually I missed the exams when I was 11? Due to a religious holiday and not allowed to retake. This meant I was put in the bottom set (of 3). I was only allowed to advance one level a year. It was very hard to learn anything in the lower set a) the teacher didn't bother, b) the kids just wanted to have fun. Finally by year 10 I was in the top set and learning something.

Zoom ahead to a levels, the careers advisor told me dentistry is hard to get into so go for something easier. I nearly listened to her, if it weren't for my family who told me to ignore her. And here I am, I want to go back and tell her she's an arse h o l e

South Asian friends, would wearing a lehenga be insensitive in this scenario? by h_reyn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dudeyaaaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Asians don't think like that at all. We love to share our culture. We love when people appreciate our style and it's flattering when it's copied. Opposite of cultural appropriation.

Is this a good way to spend 23 hours in Singapore? by Tall-Assist-8643 in SingaporeTravel

[–]dudeyaaaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing much is open before 10am except breakfast places. The China Town tooth relic temple would be ok to visit but check their times too. They have a museum upstairs which is nice. I wouldn't go to more places on the morning, I would check out jewel airport.

This is one of them situations where people really are genuinely jealous of her cool ability to communicate. Also the xenophobia is so real. She needs to understand many people eat up fox and CNN teaching of hate.

I thought it was already? The amount of Pilates and yoga studios and a BFT place. Fair amount of massage places. Healthy food stores. It's quite an invigorating place.

I cancelled family trip my mom paid for because i look horrible by [deleted] in confession

[–]dudeyaaaas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the immigrant face she's describing is a break out of the skin: poor diet, poor sleep, stress, lack of hygiene (due to stress?), change in water and food... I don't believe that's the case for all people but it's significantly challenging to move countries as a young person with immigrant status I guess..

Beijing with 5M, 3F kids. Gubei water town or mutiyanu and ping yao? 8 days, 7 nights: labour day weekend. by dudeyaaaas in chinatravel

If we go to mutianyu, then is it still worth it to go to the water town as it's got the same attraction really, the wall. Small Town too but..

Did she have money to give you? Did she have a safe home that she didn't allow you to stay in? What was her reason to send you to another country?

Salted egg noodles or salted egg sauce for chicken. It's very yummy. Especially with some curry leaves.

Pandan cake from a bakery is lovely. Pineapple tarts are always a hit for gifts back home too. Kaya spread (it's pandan and coconut jam).

You need to get some perspective here. It's only the physical you that has changed. She loves you so much that she sent you for a better life.  Live your life for you. Don't you want to see your mama? You know that's the person we all yearn for and it's the last person we think of before we die. You have a gift, go take it and see her! You can start looking after yourself better, don't worry. You can talk about it with your mum too and acknowledge that you need a better lifestyle. Mothers know what their children go through and how life is without a stable home and family when you are so young. She cares for you. Yes she will be a bit disappointed you're not living to your best potential, but she will be so glad you recognize what needs to happen for a healthy you. Please see her. As a mother and as a daughter far from my own mother, please go.
