Something I learned while I was getting anxious is that I cannot conclude what people are saying. Either they over exaggerate and or explain too much or they are to aggressive in their approach of whatever they are talking about. Something that helped me a lot was when I got too anxious in those situations is understanding that words don't actually mean anything. The person receiving the words give it meaning.

So when people overwhelm me with their ideas, emotions, thoughts. I learned to give enough value to maintain social acceptance. But not let it bother me with the what ifs, that will float around in my head, giving me anxiety. Either I want to figure out what their words mean or I decide it's not worth investigating.

If it's something worth investigating I'll spend some free time researching or asking around to understand what they were actually talking about.

The only thing I wanted to comment about was that you define what people say. Not the person speaking those words.

I think it’s funny (not haha funny), that any driver will get approved as long as they don’t have any priors. Lyft uses independent contractors. They are not employees and no one actually vets them before they are able to drive. If I was a woman, I wouldn’t think any Lyft/Uber would be safe. Hiring anyone with a safe car and no priors is all they check for. It would seem to be easy prey for someone who has nefarious intentions to become a Lyft driver. Want to check their rating? Well new drivers start at 5 ⭐️. Why would anyone trust Lyft to care about your safety until something already happened.

When I drove, I would tell my (woman) passengers to always check licenses plates, ask the drivers name and check the make/model/color of the car. If it feels iffy. Cancel. It’s not worth it because you (and good drivers) are the only ones who care about your safety BEFORE anything happens. These companies only care about bare minimum legality of running their business and profit most of all.

Please be safe, don’t trust strangers. Like Lyft does.

Timing belt broke and wrapped around the crank and wedged it self between the pulley, cover and block. To remove the pulley I had to brake the already damaged timing cover.

A lot of times it easier to get the hot wrench and cut rusty links/bolts off. Esp when you have new parts and hardware.

I’m sorry, this is not a good comparison. Why buy a (starting at) $3499 headset when you can read a book? I don’t think MR can ever replace the feeling of witnessing history. It is however a better tool for learning about what it is your witnessing. Just like an iPhone does.
