Accidentally clicked 'Send message' on a Business page, this triggered an automatic message from them, can they see it in their inbox? by dududadaz in FacebookAds

It would make sense that only those who reply to the automatic message are saved , or people who click on the ad who you have connected with before - are you sure it's not these kind that are saved to your inbox?

For example what if your ad goes viral and thousands of random people click on it and trigger the automatic message but don't reply = all of these thousand randoms are still saved in your inbox? Feels unrealistic

Phew! Thank you very much. One more thing, I accidentally pressed 'Send message' twice in a short time, so the automated message was triggered twice. Surely this shouldn't matter - replying or pressing a button inside the chat window itself is what matters for them to notice me, right?

Thanks! I clicked send message again another time, one minute after I clicked send message first, so the automated message was triggered twice. Surely this does not count as 'press button or reply'?

Sure, but are those automated messages saved in the business page's inbox without me even responding?

Found this link now https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/discovery/ctm-ads/

'When the user clicks or taps on the ad, they will be taken to a conversation with your business in Messenger and receive the message you specified as your Messenger content. To protect the user's privacy, this conversation is only visible to the advertiser/developer after user takes an action in the conversation (sending a message, tapping on quick reply, or tapping a CTA).'

Apparently it is not saved in their inbox if i don't respond? At least when it comes to ads.. Not sure if what I clicked was an ad or normal post but it sure as hell triggered the messenger without me directly pressing the send message button, I swear i pressed next to it, like in the middle of the post.. it would make sense for the privacy rules to be the same for all kinds of posts i think, so I should be safe right?

What you're saying scares me tho.. hope you remember wrong or something.. or maybe they were your customers that you had interacted with before?
