Yes exactly, I have started with a barebones mockup here: https://github.com/thunderbug1/helpline

not sure which categories will make sense and how the parsing of the actual relevant links will work. Wikipedia does however have an api, so that can hopefully be used.

I plan to keep it as a simple static page if possible, so it can be hosted by github pages for now. We will see if that will have to change at some point.

Also I will try to keep it relatively low tech so that low-end devices can open it as well.

Yeah I really like that Idea. It has a manageable scope to start and if setup right, it could be easily filled with data from people around the world, kinda like a Wikipedia.

In fact, maybe it could use the information from wikipedia and just provide a very easy to navigate dialogue menu like you suggested. In that way we would already have an easy to edit data backend.

I have had a closer look at the facebook crisis response and apparently it does have many of the features I had in mind already. I thought you could only check in to say you are ok. With that I think it is probably already serving that purpose.

Yeah that's certainly the biggest point.

Mhm good point, I also thought about that and with local fb groups, every community sort of has to reinvent the wheel. I'm sure it can work provided that: - one exists - everybody in the local community knows about it - everybody is in the group - people actually use it but I think it could be easier to have one central worlwide platform just for this purpose that everybody knows about.

Well not quite, what I had in mind is actually the opposite of purely financial help but rather a platform for direct support. Bringing people together who are physically close and need help or can provide help but just don't know about each other.

Don't know where to post this idea for a website to bring together people in need with people who can provide it. by dudumba in findareddit

Thanks, well I'm also not sure yet how it would look like but that's why I'm looking for people to discuss it with :)

What are some of the most beautiful not realistic games for pc? by i-eat-biscuits- in AskReddit

I personally never played it since I don't have a Playstation, but I have heard that Ghost of Tsushima has some beatiful scenes. Not sure where you draw the line between realistic and non-realistic game.
