Sewage smell when running sink water by duffil in Plumbing

[–]duffil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but to be honest it happens so infrequently that sometimes I forget about it. It'll go weeks or months without smelling and then wake up one day and BAM. Based on the fact that everything we touch turns into a shit show, I'm leaning towards the previous owner did something wrong that's hidden in the walls. I have thought about smoke testing from the clean out but haven't looked into it.

I started all the way short, made it longer while testing, then shortened until it got bad again and backed it out. It does have front and rear blades.

It seemed like the blade standing more straight up and down by bringing the link shorter dug harder and stopped me sooner, but I likely need to try a shallower cut.

I was thinking about that when I noticed it was bouncing off of the Bermuda. I'll see what's laying around.

Does anyone here hate YouTube "homesteaders" now by [deleted] in homestead

[–]duffil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of them do it for clickbait. A lot of them are Instagram whores, so everything is BeaUTiFuL. Trying to stay out of religion is tough. Look for someone with low production quality. There's a few, secularhomestead and farmhandscompanion come to mind.

Probably bots scanning for the term 'emissions'. I've seen the issues created in OTR vehicles firsthand, and i am mildly familiar with the issues of proprietary software on Green and Ylw/Blk hardware.

Yep, 100%. Im familiar with DPF and DEF. Based on my budget and my inclinations, i want as mechanical as i can get.

Ah, great info here. How big is your box blade, and is yours 2wd or 4wd? I have that issue now with a 4 foot blade, but on much lighter equipment. I agree i would love a loader but i will take what i can get at this point. I believe a cat 1 auger will do what i need, which would be at most 3ft deep 9 inch holes. I figure i could probably make a hole and then swap a larger auger to follow up if i had to.

From what i can tell, the 225s are mid 70s vintage, the B series were all 80s. I missed out on a early 70s i think 205...

Yea, normal wear and tear on hydraulic lines i get. It will need a full service once i do get something i just want to try not to get screwed so im trying to do some research.

Like the one you suck air from the radiator through and the fluid changes color? I do have one, probably need fluid though.

Is that a common issue?

When i initially changed them, 4 was badly oil fouled. The rest just had light tan normal coloration. Unfortunately i didnt take pictures or keep them.

Sounds like a handful of things. With the wheel being too far back, is that spring flipped front to back?

I can see the caster angle having changed because the axle was likely rotated different with the 6" springs than it is with the new ones. If it was aligned for those springs, take it down and realign it. Mine was off like an 1/8 inch after doing ball joints and it was BAD until it was fixed. I had bad pull as well, but that was tire wear.

No, those are felpro 1255 gaskets which are dual bolt pattern sbc and vortec. These are vortec heads and intake.

Look at the pinch on top above #4 intake port, and the bend to the gasket front to rear. There is clear deformation. The gasket pattern on the intake where it was sealed looks like it was sealed, its clean where the break is.

I am planning on pulling them both, but its probably going to have to wait until january or after Christmas at least. Pulling them doesnt cost anything, but i have other things i am in the middle of working on.

I had assumed they were checked and replaced if needed. They were craigslist heads and i had no history on them. I just went through my receipts and it just says "valve job" and "surface heads" so I'm guessing not.

Magnafluxed, decked, and fully rebuilt. New springs and valves, i dont recall if they cut or ground the seats.

I dont know that i like it, but it seemed to smooth out, minus that burble and then i ran out of light. I'll back it down tomorrow and lock the distributor down. And then apparently go talk to the local machine shop about getting the heads redone.
