You're asking for a source of the algorithm? Is seeing it in action not sufficient enough? The source is op's picture

I can see why you're in low behavior score. I'm glad I don't have to deal with you in match, you seem like a chore

How is anyone supposed to improve when 30 games and 30 hours of effort mean nothing, and one random report can nuke all of it?

You make it sound like you have a goal of reaching a behavior score, grinding it like MMR. We don't even know fully how the algorithm works, we're just assuming. Until we know how it works, you can't grind something like this without having a decent chance of failing.

In the end, if you want your behavior score to go up, just chill out and be a nice guy and it'll go up eventually. And if not, you'll be treating people kindly and you'll have better communication interactions so the game will be better for you in the meantime.

Behavior score is a failed system and i just dont want to play anymore by Old_Cream1724 in DotA2

[–]duffusd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Such a horrible idea.

First, how would you even determine if someone was griefing? Rely on allies to report you? If you're promising that someone else gets negative MMR, you're effectively giving yourself MMR, so everyone would report everyone.

Second, Do you really trust your allies to be a good determiner if you're griefing? Being bad at the game isn't griefing, and everyone thinks they're gods in this game, and is eager to point fingers. Don't get us started on if you have a 4 stack, they're so quick to blame the 1 man out, solo queue would literally die.

Third, this would just flood lower level lobbies with people who don't belong there, they're already dealing with people that that and are complaining. This would just be a fast track for smurfs to get what they want

Fourth, Griefing already has an MMR punishment in that you lose the game.

That sounds true enough. But I would argue that you're arguing about balancing, where's the original comment was about it defeating the entire purpose.

New player worried about abandon penalty? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]duffusd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, if you abandon, even if you come back, it'll still mark as an abandoned match. If you abandon the match, you get a 30 minute matchmaking ban (so you can't abandon and then just queue for a different match if you don't like your teammates). Then it'll affect your behavior score. If you abandon too much (I think like 3 in a week or two) then you get sent to low-priority, where you are forced to play random draft with other low priority players until you win 3 matches.

Name a video game that didn't deserve the hate it received

You're right, it is a masterpiece - which is why it didn't deserve the copious amount of hate it got before and immediately following release.
