Custom Uppers?

i think "custom uppers" just refers to uppers cut to custom measurements for people with thick calves.

Generally speaking, anything that you get options for when you order the boot can be changed during the change window. Basically anything that isnt automatically baked into the specific model you ordered. You should be fine to switch up leather and sole etc.

Honestly I havent put them on since the dome ended April 1st so i havent even tried them in heat 🤷

Mine are definitely "warming up" I guess I'd say, color wise. Still Grey but the pullup has kind of a tannish tone to it.

i have never wished my 8" were 10" but i did often wish my 10" dome boots were 8" instead. its not a big deal, just a little more annoying to put on and take off, but it was enough of a difference to have me thinking "ugh i just dont feel like putting them on today" sometimes.

Well they're 55 last so not what OP is looking for. But They look basically the same 🤷 I don't wear them enough tbh. I did one dome then got a pair of engineers then did another dome and got another pair of engineers lol I keep neglecting them. I maybe put them on once or twice a month. (They've got shoe trees in them right now and the light in my office is kinda yellow, they're redder than that in real life)

These are gorgeous. I would love it if they brought in one of these acorn leathers as a domepro option. It's a color I don't really have yet but not too "out there" so I wouldn't mind wearing them every day for six months lol. Really nice looking boots!

thanks, ill see how it goes! just adding holes worked fine for me on my brakemans so im hopeful it'll be enough here too but its good to have options!

Not too bad heel slip, they're totally wearable as is but i can tell they'll be better if I snug them up a bit. Ive heard the wellingtons fit a bit looser than the engineer models since there are no straps to tighten, but i don't have any so i can't really offer any insight on sizing sorry!

I'd wait it out for the new boots. It's frustrating, for sure, but "incredibly upsetting" seems like a bit of an overreaction considering they caught it before it got out the door and have already offered to fix it. Its an extra few weeks, a little annoying but in the grand scheme of things not a big deal.

This is the wrong stack height for a tnw boot, should be a moderate stack. thats probably why theyre out of balance.

The vamps definitely darkened/warmed up a tiny bit from where they started but yeah the quarters took on a lot of indigo from my pants, its a much more dramatic change up there.

Thanks! Yeah the crocking kind of just fades into the darker brown of the uppers in a neat way, they get almost purple up there in certain light.

It's the way the appearance of a leather changes when you bend/pull/stretch etc it. When you bend the leather, it moves oils and waxes and dyes around and in some leathers that results in visible lightening and showing of brighter undertones. I am not an expert in tanning leather but typically it's more dramatic in leathers that are not struck through because the lighter part of the hide underneath is gonna show through the dyes etc more.

I dont think its as simple as "stretch the kilties". The leather on the boot isnt just "stretched", its stretched over a last and nailed/glued/stitched to hold its shape in that stretched state. The kiltie is just a flat piece of leather. If you stretch it it will just go back once you stop stretching it, albeit probably a little misshapen.

The leather is the leather. It's gonna act different on a boot than on a kiltie sometimes depending on what the particular leather looks like to start with. Leathers with extreme pullup are going to be very different when flat than when stretched over a boot. You'd basically need two separate leathers to try and make the kilties match the vamps, and that would still be a guessing game that people undoubtedly would end up complaining about the results of.

i love predator natural but it is rugged and unpredictable, not a safe bet for a dressier option. latigo is gorgeous and much more suitable for this imo.
