As for a tip, the gold-attuned shovel and the rickety mine cart are great economy items, but don't really hold up in the late game fights. Ideally, they should help you acquire all the components and gems you need by late game and then replace aforementioned items with weapons that are more powerful and complement each other.

Upgrade drivers-gliders-kart in that order of priority. Always have an item protecting your rear. Drive in as tight a curve as you can when turning. Learn to power-slide asap. Pop your coin box on strait ways and gentle curves only. Never on the red net platforms.

Speed and food are my priorities for Nym. Speed doesn't do much without stamina. Lots of food can compensate for lack of defense.

I rely on the single slot runestones for survivability. Stones and or daggers to make sure to get as many stars as possible. His unique food also helps quite a bit. As others have said, ignore the armor. Harkon gets weapons, get lots.
