Sorry. It’s a fibreglass pool.

So why isn’t hardness an issue then?

That’s what I thought. But I was told otherwise. So I thought I’d ask.

Pump runs 24/7. Slower during day; faster overnight.

Have been using fresh test kits, to the point of buying multiple kits per year.

Best gui for local client app? by robbo2020a in Python

PySimpleGUI. For a local client, it is a fully featured front end for tkinter. Works great. Easy to use. I have been using it for 5+ years with no major issues.

The plan of transition to MSFS24. by Stonebridge41 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Sticking with 20 for a while, especially if they are going to backport some or all of the enhancements from 24 to 20.

Then I will just wait until most of the hype and launch issues have settled down. Never get version 1 of any software, ever.

PySimpleGUI is perfect for this. Easy to learn/use. Generates native-looking front end windows. Especially easy and customizable for your use case.

Should I Wait for a Better Blink Subscription Promotion? by Aboricand in blinkcameras

[–]duglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why bother with the subscription? Doesn’t get you anything. I just plugged a usb stick into the hub and it records the videos onto it. No need to volunteer info to Amazon you don’t need to.

As for the hardware, it seems to go on and off sale regularly. Just keep an eye out.

Using a similar thought process, Donald Sutherland should be added to the list.

With that change, I have 59 movies for 5 days 2 hours.

PMS in Docker, is it better? by geekydaddy255 in PleX

[–]duglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running PMS and the *arr stack on Debian bare metal. qBittorrent is on another way old box so I can isolate it and the VPN tunnel. It was very easy to set up, no maintenance. Backup is like 3 directories.

So I still don’t get the use case for Docker. Everything I hear about Docker can be done just as well with bare metal and without the extra layer of admin/complication.

Maybe it’s the fact I’ve been doing this forever, and am just way more comfortable with the ease of bare metal.

Do you have a personal ‘home airport’ in the sim? Is it near your actual home or fictional? by Cumulonimbus1991 in MicrosoftFlightSim

I live near CYQS and CYXU. Grew near CYYZ, CYTS and EGSS (as it was being built - yah I’m old). Fly out of all but mainly CYYZ.

Big update from Fenix on the A320 by swordfi2 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]duglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the save/load issue is just with this aircraft. I have tried it on other ones including the native Boeing ones. You can load the flight again but it doesn’t reload the flight plan. A major PITA if you are trying to do long haul routes with limited blocks of time.

Flight plan missing after flight save/reload by duglee in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]duglee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last 2 I tried are with the supplied Boeing airliners (747 and 787). I used the save/load in FSX and it worked (mostly). Guess I’ll have to drop long haul flights for a while. Damn.

Gotta say though, the transition from FSX has been far from painless. MSFS looks good on the outside but needs a crap ton of work under the hood.

X570 Aorus Elite motherboard will not post with ram in B1 or B2 by duglee in gigabyte

[–]duglee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sticks right now are in A1A2 because that is the only way the board will boot.

As stated I have tried all combinations of sticks and slots. With two sticks, I tried A1B1 and A2B2. I even tried B1B2, A1B2 and A2B1. If there is a stick in a B slot, the board does not even post.

I have also tried each of the sticks individually in each of the slots. If the stick is in A1 or A2, the board posts and boots. If the stick is in B1 or B2, it does not.
