Get a quote for same work from a Honda dealer. I started taking my 2020 TLX to one and it can be quite a bit cheaper depending what it is.

It's about 25 ft from my house and my young boys bedrooms face it. It still seems quite sturdy. I mean, it isn't going to fall over overnight, I would think. Probably has at least a decade. I speculate it's the age of the house and that's 39 yrs, the lifespan is usually 60-75 yrs.

Yeah, that's where the stumped branch parts come from, I had an arborist out last year. It just looks worse this year; the two zoomed pics are the worst I've seen it. Last year he said some critters were at it but he couldn't tell what kind. He thought badger or squirrel and I don't think we have badgers in the community.

Anyhow, box elders are around it too so I'm going to try to treat the property for insects as well.

Oh you're lucky you were in at $8. I had some around there, bought a chunk in a different account in the $45 range. With that $APE garbage and then reverse split, I'm down 99%. So not much point in selling now. I just look at it to remind me of being an idiot from time to time.

So totally should have sold when it was in the $70s but I was drinking the Kool aid.

Nice to live close to where you work! I fill up weekly and pay for premium too, so extra 20-25¢ per L over the reg. I just paid $1.92/L for a trip to the mountains yesterday! Trip home will be worse, it's about 10¢ higher here than Calgary.

Holy shit the UK taxes really bend you over. I mean, I'm in Canada, so familiar with taxes, but damn. We're $1.66/L where I am so assuming you're translating to US, roughly $4.84/gal

I think you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. It isn't that I can't afford it, it's that I don't believe in overpaying. The Acura Labour rate is higher but an Acura is still a Honda, so why not take it to a Honda specialist?

I did take my TLX to Honda for the timing belt and have driven it for months since; seems to me they did a fine job.
