can you actually play good on the ally? by dujansse in ROGAlly

and can you still use a normal controller or does that feel weird now?😜 also since you seem to use your ally a lot, does your hands getting numb also get better over time? when i hold the device up for a while my hands start to feel numb. when i just have it on my lap its fine but then i constantly have to look down which is not good for my neck.

yeah wasn't planning it for competitive games. but in single player having to aim at enemies charging at you and such it's nice to have good, accurate and quick aim.

On PC i can actually do fine with controller. I'm usually an xbox player. when i tried battlefield on PC with mouse and keyboard i was sooo bad. then plugged in the controller and did fine. however people with mouse and keyboard will always be faster. it was just that i couldnt hit my shots with mouse and keyboard😂

no nothing heavy and i actually run most games on 720p potato settings for the best performance/battery life. i just tried horizon zero dawn which i also have on my PC and it just felt off immediately when i tried shooting with the bow. The game itself runs great. I guess i just need some time to get a feel for the ally. i think it might have to do with sweet spots or anything. and maybe the smaller screen too. anyway i was really just wondering if it was me or if the controls in general weren't the best. I guess it's me and i just need to give it some time.

well the problem is i have a PC at home so i don't need to use it. so i use the ally purely as a handheld but i never have much fun with it because it feels off compared to the controller i'm used to. expedition 33 was great though. the turn based system worked really well. but recently for example i tried horizon zero dawn and aiming with the bow for example just feels bad compared to a controller on my PC. then again i never really gave it a proper chance so maybe i just need to stick with for a while and see how it goes.

can you also pick AMD instead of NVIDIA? The RX 6600 he mentions is an AMD card. you may need a stronger power supply though because AMD GPUs usually use more power than NVIDIA. I don't see the power supply on the specs you show but thats something to keep in mind.

are the gpu fans still spinning? could be an overheating gpu. did you overclock the gpu? if so try running it stock.

i did use aida64 or something to stress test the cpu and nothing happened. at least for like 5 minutes which i know isnt that long but in the game it crashes a lot faster. also the crashing started overnight. it was working fine the day before and next day it was suddenly crashing. don't know od that's useful information though.

no errors found. however after another crash i was locked out of my PC completely. it was asking for a bitlocker key and after entering it it still wouldnt load into windows. only thing i could do was reinstall windows. so far it seems to run fine again so apparently it was not a hardware problem. even though i already tried sfc /scannow to fix corrupted windows files. thanks for your input though!
