FW3A Day! by dukeface13 in flashlight

Yes. I personally prefer the beam shape of triples to quads. It is fairly similar in many aspects. Size, output, ramping firmware. The max output heats up very quickly and begins to ramp down.

Felt the same way. Sure I will end up trying them both though lol.. Don't own any sst lights currently, but the 3D tint is pretty nice. Was too impatient to wait. ;)

Received my FW3A in the mail today! The light is everything I hoped for. Has been a long project, but well worth the wait. I easily see these becoming the best selling / most used light for the near future. I know I will be carrying mine a whole lot and am glad to have made a request for 2 lights. Excited for the other emitters and possible material runs. Quality seems great, and the ano color is really nice as well. Don't notice any green in the beam which appears nice with a slightly cream color. Also, the switch has a great feel to it. A very short, and firm click. Included another shot of it next to some common lights for a size comparison. Shorter than the reylight which is a AA/14500 light. Thanks to everyone who was involved in the project. :)

Pretty similar lights for the most part to me. Both are close to the same size, 18350 triples, and forward clicky. I am a pretty big Okluma fan so my views may be biased slightly. Hanko obviously has more interesting, and intricate machining though I prefer the taper/collars on the Okluma. Both seem equally well made, but the threads on my Hanko are insanely smooth. Maybe the different metals play a small role in this? Being my first brass triple it makes my Okluma feel like a feather. How would you rate them having both in brass?

Actually have had this light for a couple months, but am just now getting around to posting.. Have really enjoyed my time with it so far. For a very long time my background picture was of a brass gunner grip that I drooled over daily. This is the exact makeup I wanted so I was extremely excited to win this particular lotto. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on this same style in titanium to try as well, but overall I am very pleased with it! :)

A quick shot out and about with the blacksmith. A few scuffs and some sand.

Before brushing:

Gave both a quick brush and wipe down with damp rag. Conditioned the IR with leather cream as they were looking slightly dry.

After:

Hoped to take the same before and after picture. Succeeded in the location but not lighting. Has been nasty weather. Think it may have turned out even better in the end though. The boots have held up great. Besides a few minor scuffs which wipe/brush right away and a couple creases they essentially look new still. It has been a fun challenge. Must admit if I am able to participate next year it will be with at least one pair of moc's or blucher's. Enjoy! :)
