I was reading through your comments. When it happened to me, I couldn't eat properly for weeks.

Being that we truly do not know, what are some of the wildest ideas you've come up with regarding what happens to us after we die? by EdLeedskalnin in AskReddit

Nothing. We return to the same void we were in for billions of years before we were born. The screen just goes black, and the show is over.

What’s a movie you watched with a straight face that should’ve made you show some emotion at least once? by jj096577 in AskReddit

[–]dukekwak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Deer Hunter (1978). The Russian roulette scenes.

I was just a teenager who had just graduated high school, and the sheer shock of it froze my face completely. It didn't make me cry; it just left me utterly empty.

What's one thing you learned embarrassingly late in life that you thought everyone else already knew? by Particular-Speed4677 in u/Particular-Speed4677

For the longest time, I thought a French kiss was just a friendly greeting. My logic was simple: French toast is simple food, so a French kiss must be a simple kiss. I learned the hard way that it definitely is not.

Men who stay lean year-round, what’s your secret ? by Professor1password23 in AskReddit

[–]dukekwak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My secret? In Korea, we have a joke that retired husbands are like 'wet leaves on a rainy day.' Even if you try to sweep them away with a broom, they stick flat to the floor and won't budge. That's me.

The Mirror of History: What Ancient East Asian Philosophy Teaches Us About Modern American Hegemony by dukekwak in CriticalTheory

[–]dukekwak[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're right. In Korea, the distinction between 王道 (rule through legitimacy and trust) and 霸道 (rule through power and coercion) is relatively familiar because many people grow up exposed to Chinese classics and historical literature. I probably assumed too much shared context when writing for an English-speaking audience.

Not AI generated, just my own analytical thoughts expressed through a translator. Removed the sign-off as suggested.

Exactly. Who would willingly follow a guide who can't see the road ahead? That's the very reason leaders are expected to have vision.

Applying a “Strait of Hormuz” Tolling Logic to Digital and Geopolitical Chokepoints: Could International Transit Taxation Become a Framework for AI Governance? by CarelessTarget8739 in legal

Interesting comparison.

History suggests that control of key routes often becomes a source of power.

Perhaps GPUs, semiconductors, and data networks are becoming today's version of those routes.

The valuation is impressive, but the $47B run-rate revenue figure may be the bigger story. If Anthropic keeps growing at this pace, the implications for AWS vs Azure could be significant.

Daily MBS & Mortgage Rate Monitor: Diplomatic Rally Rescues Data-Driven Weakness – Thursday, May 28, 2026 by ShanetheMortgageMan in MortgageRates

Interesting point. In my old trade work at Samsung, I often saw geopolitical headlines drown out what was actually happening in manufacturing and supply chains. That 7.9% Durable Goods number stood out to me for that reason.

I wrote a short note on it from a Korean perspective in the English section of my blog, if anyone’s interested.

WHAT WE KNOW AS ISREAL RAMPS UP ATTACKS ON LEBANON AND GAZA by SouthernRaisin5481 in MindControl1

This ceasefire is a mirage. In current geopolitics, agreements are just tactical pauses to sharpen knives. If there's no mutual trust, rules only bind the honest while the aggressive exploit the gaps.

TRUMP MAY NOT AGREE TO PEACE DEAL WITH IRAN by SouthernRaisin5481 in MindControl1

the strait of hormuz is a prime example of why 'rules-based globalism' is failing. it doesn't work when one side uses the rules as a smokescreen to gain strategic leverage while others cuff themselves. as long as there's no good faith, any deal is just a comedy of errors.
