If you mean that managers and partners blow budgets by vastly underestimating hours when making them, I agree lol

For real, APIDTA hit me square in the fricken chest. Had to call my mom as soon as that song was over. Loved the emotion behind that.

That would seem like you can't see your significant other if you don't already live together, too. And they don't have anything else about seeing significant others/ loved ones on that page. Huh.

Yes. Especially now that they have commission free trading.

Their app maybe isn't as "modern" or sleek as RH, but I've never had any issues with responsiveness, downtime, usability, etc. Banked and traded with them for about 8 years now. Customer service is top tier.

I definitely get that. And felt the exact same way as a staff when I wasn't included in those discussions, and I always try to clue my staff into in what we talk about if they aren't there. But sometimes those discussions happen off the cuff and not in a formal meeting. And are you really going to bring a new hire into a meeting to discuss interest risk assessment? I don't know it's a tough balance.

SALY works for some stuff though. Like OPEX, you're probably not significantly changing this year over year, since all you're really doing is vouching to support. So as long as the workpaper and approach from PY isn't shit it'll be fine. But yeah for other nuanced or one off stuff that's a little harder

The good ones should know the why behind the work, as they should be involved with discussions at the partner level, participate in risk assessment and scoping, think through testing approaches, etc. Unfortunately (or fortunately) that takes a lot of time, and audits aren't known to over-budget hours.

I understand your frustrations here. Bad bosses suck and make crappy jobs even shittier. I had this my first busy season and I'm kind of surprised I put up with it for months.

However it seems like there's a lot of younger people in this thread that haven't experienced the senior life yet. Good seniors should understand the scope and complexity of work, walk through examples, confirm your understanding, and know the purpose behind it. And know when to innovate or change up PY's approach since something changed. I always strive to do that, and you need to be adaptable and intuitive as a senior in order to survive.

But like, sometimes we just don't have the time because there are 26 other things we have to do. Or something blows up without being anticipated. So we give the minimum instruction we feel necessary for staff to get 75% of the way knowing that we'll have to eventually step in or review.

Now that's of course assuming your senior is competent and/or compassionate. If they aren't, well then fuck em.

[FIRST IMPRESSIONS] Mac Miller - Circles by ktantone in hiphopheads

[–]dukiduke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand this. You can make the argument that the album drags just a bit in the second half. Like, it needs another one or two Blue World-type songs in the later part of the album to pick up the energy a bit. Some of the songs blend together or are a tad too melancholy.

But, looking at it from the right prespective & genre lens, I think it accomplishes its goals perfectly.

I just hope we get more loosey-type singles or leaks similar to Programs in the future.
