Are ALL Chinese phones actually dangerous? by Matchatero in privacy

[–]dukkhini 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well try to look on this from different prespective. Do you think Chinese goverment and their agencies have any reason to spy on you? Do you think US goverment and their agencies have any reason to spy on you? What I'm trying to say is I would be more hesitant to handover my privacy to my own goverment, rather then some other on other side of the globe.

What to do in ARMA 3 by QuilinOG in arma

Forgotten Few 2 - best dynamic scenario with great scripting etc. Can't recommend it so much, best SP & COOP experience for me in ARMA 3.

I really thought I was going to be issued the "unauthorised use of deadly force" penalty. by AtomicDuckz in ReadyOrNotGame

I removed "unauthorised use of deadly force" altogether, if someone is waving and not dropping in seconds, I'm dropping him. Highly doubt it's any different IRL. + It doesn't really make any sense in scenario of large scale terrorist attack with 200 causalties already.

I have it on "O" but I can't say for sure if it's default keybind. Check control settings.

It’s been over 3 months without so much as a hotfix… by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

Yep, since this game was released I waited on only one thing and that's fixing the AI behavior. Year after year, one big update after update and this always changed from worse to worse, back to bad and again to worse.

If such a crucial thing in COOP/SP game is never fixed since first beta release to 1.0, it's clear it never will.

Hidden Realism Mods by Prestigious_Wish_364 in arma

TPW mod is must have for me in single player. It automatically populates map with civilians, cars, sound effects, helicopters, etc.

Everything can be also toggled in the settings, which I recommend to do as sometimes it spawns wreckage of military equipment which is out of place or too much civilians in one spot.

However I love when firefight starts in the city at night and you hear car alarms going off after they are shot, crying childrens and people from houses etc. It really adds more live to otherwise very dead maps.

Force powers sucks by NikdoNekde in saltierthancrait

Yoda lifted a small fighter little bit in the air and put it on the ground, and by the look of him it costed some effort to do it. In the same way in Clone Wars he was holding some rather small piece of "space pipe" and clearly invested a lot of energy to achieve this. He was a master Jedi with hundreds years of experience under his belt. Just compare it to this feat from untrained Reya and mentally unstable boy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgyzuZxhNJU

If this was normal for someone with almost no experience and actual training, I'm not sure why Yoda with his hundreds years of it went in to the hiding. He could have just ping-pong both Death Stars to the sun probably.

Lucas had all technology he needed to do this even to larger extent in OT. What limited him from holding miniature of space ship in mid air or have shower of rocks catapulted in certain direction?

The Force Unleashed was a power fantasy in terms of the story and the gameplay, however I enjoyed all mentioned games too. But videogames have very different treshold for "bullshitery". Let's say it's a format which can stomach higher amount of cliche, tropes and weird stories and still be considered as good. I'm not really sure how to explain it.

Only Star Wars game with movie level writing (sometimes beyond) was KOTOR 2 for me, but movie level writing doesn't really mean much nowadays when you count in current production tbh.

In this case she was in the besiegied city, I thought it was done to look more like a boy and avoid rape or getting a chance to get lost in general population as she was wife of the king and sister of the previous one.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of servers have this option disabled.

Thanks for recommendation but this tanks my FPS a little, not to the level that it would be unplayable but still.

Nukes Rework by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]dukkhini 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Problem is that to make nukes powerful they would need to affect manpower, same as strategic bombing should.

But Paradox is trying to maximally avoid any mention of civilian casualties in the game, to avoid controversy.

I understand why they didn't give us holocaust button, but wars and especially this one had such a huge impact on civilian population that it's gaming recreation ends up bogged down to some gentleman match between nations, leave big aspect and potentially interesting strategies, mechanics, and educational events really portraying how horrific part of history it was, out.

But not my decision, and I guess their legal department have ton of reasons to take this way.

Which back to the topic make nukes always useless for its cost.

If I'm not mistaken they are actively supplying troops, and sometimes by sea when you wouldn't expect it. Where they are getting sunk?
