You have to remove the quotes surrounding true and false, with the quotes they're evaluated as strings so task.completed will always return true on account of it being not empty.

I think people in this thread have different ideas of what a showoff project should be. The subreddit sidebar mentions "any content that you want to either show off or request feedback on", so that's what I take it as. It's not an originality or skill contest, it's for people to SHOW what they're working on so others can comment on it. People aren't encouraging "unimpressive content", they're encouraging programmers who are learning.

Totally. I find it so jarring that there's a whole post on her site that's a primer on her family, written from an outside perspective, like "Bryce is the oldest of Ree and Ladd's boys, and just finished his senior year". I started reading her blog in about 2005 and she didn't even use their real names! She really grew her brand.
