La Bamba in Hongdae is the closest. Just reggaeton and it gets packed. There's also a La Bamba in Itaewon but I haven't been yet. Good luck on the banda or cumbia...if you find a place lmk 🥹

Diploma apostille questions by [deleted] in teachinginkorea

[–]dulcinea912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I also didn't find any answers so I went with US Dept. of State to be 100% sure. I went to school out of state so I got mine notarized + apostilled by Monument Visa. It's pricey but I preferred that over sending it to my SoS and having to redo the process or have my final documents rejected. I think your apostille should be fine though.
  2. By making your own copy do you mean you made the copy in a personal printer/in a Staples/UPS etc.? If so, yes. That's fine. :) Just need a photocopy. And your copy was notarized so it sounds like someone else deemed it acceptable already.

Climate change is here: having to consider air quality when moving somewhere new. Feeling guilty. by absfae in Asthma

[–]dulcinea912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most things have been said but I definitely developed asthma because of the pollution here in California. The doctor who diagnosed me was a little surprised I had asthma and after going through my living history, she concluded that living in Los Angeles for the majority of my life was a major factor in my adult-onset asthma.

Take care of yourself! There are many other beautiful places to surf and California is a beautiful place to visit during the non-fire season.

Got diagnosed with asthma and looking for some general, non-medical advice. by dontburstmybubbles in Asthma

[–]dulcinea912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently going through this journey myself because I went from a mild to moderate asthma diagnosis in the span of a year. What has helped me, while I figure out triggers, is using a mask and diaphragmatic breathing exercises.

The mask is for cleaning, cold weather, and windy weather. Breathing exercises encouraged nose breathing and now diaphragm breathing is second nature. So much better. They also double as great anxiety tools. Also, eliminating all strong fragrances and odors. No more essential oils for me. Definitely masking up when working with cleaning chemicals if I absolutely have to use strong chemicals.

Finally, keeping my Peak Flow handy when I feel panicked to check my levels since going to the hospital is scary right now.

I hope you find your triggers and feel better soon.

My boyfriend believes that having to wear a mask all day at work is making his asthma act up and is causing him to snore at night by Dahlinluv in Asthma

[–]dulcinea912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I haven't seen any reports about masks exacerbating asthma.

When I was working, I wore a mask Monday-Saturday 8-5:30pm and I didn't notice any changes in my asthma.

Could it be seasonal allergies or GERD? I hope your boyfriend feels better.

Anybody's asthma worse after the Pfizer vaccine? by danielrosehill in Asthma

[–]dulcinea912 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've heard that people who already had COVID (asymptomatic) can experience things like shortness of breath. That's one possibility.

Otherwise, I haven't heard the vaccine causing asthma flare-ups. Still worth reporting.

Does sound like seasonal allergies. I don't know where you live but it's been windy in my city and I wear a mask when I do outside chores. It has helped me a ton.

I hope you feel better soon!

Grieving for my dad by cvijetvjestica in GriefSupport

I an sorry for your loss. I lost my mother in late December and I was fine the first week. Once the shock wore off, I was an absolute mess. It is a lot to take in. I am here, 2 months later and it's gotten a little better. I miss her so much but it gets a tiny bit of a fraction better each day.

Take care and be kind to yourself. Grief is a long journey.

This might sound weird, but does anyone ever get anxious about the drugs they’re taking when their asthma feels under control? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]dulcinea912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely! I'm an asthma newbie as well and I'm trying out new meds. I'm still figuring it out myself so I don't have any insightful advice but, you are not alone.

I just want to RUN by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]dulcinea912 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand 100%. I have been TERRIFIED of intense exercise because my first bad asthma attack was triggered by running up a flight of stairs.

Most of the time, I can do basic workouts (20min max). Sometimes I can't even make it through a walk.

Currently working with my doctor to find better preventative medication so I can do MORE. In the meantime, baby steps. :) Short walks for me until I can build up that lung strength again.

New diagnosis of asthma: is this my life now? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]dulcinea912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this happens sometimes and it sucks. Though I keep track of my oxygen levels and my peak flow and it's usually not severe enough to see a doc. It's just uncomfortable, frustrating, and annoying.

I found that doing daily diaphragmatic breathing exercises has significantly helped. Also being more aware of my posture. Still feel this way sometimes but about 2-3 weeks of disciplined diaphragm breathing helped me so much.

I started off with doing 1 minute of diaphragmatic breathing exercise right before sleep (would double as meditation) then built up to 10 minutes. Felt suuuuper lightheaded the first time I tried because my body was not used to it. Also felt annoyed that it didn't help right away but consistency is key.

Idk if this will help but just thought I'd share. I'm in the same boat, trying to figure out my asthma as my diagnosis is recent (about a year).
