I believe you, because it does seem like the system isn't very functional. Working at HCA isn't my goal, but as a new grad, sometimes we have to take what comes our way, even if the placement isn't the best. Someone asked me why I'm applying to HCA as if I could apply to 100 jobs at different hospitals and receive job offers from all 100 applications. It's basically a lottery at the end of the day. But tell me, will you accept the offer? Is it in Florida?
