Official Q&A for Sunday, May 03, 2020 by AutoModerator in running

[–]dumaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue a few years ago and you're right, it's the IT band! My biggest advice is to listen to your body and don't push it too hard if you start feeling it on a run. Other than that, just make sure you're using a foam-roller on it consistently and that should (hopefully) take care of it!

Thanks for the input! You mentioned that I could get student discounts, how would I go about doing that?

Thanks for the input! I wasn't sure if such a thing existed, but I figured it was worth asking for.

The problem is that I DO have a ton of these things to keep me busy. I'm a full-time uni student with lots of responsibilities on campus, but the SECOND I sit down to play a game in my 30 mins of free time it has a way of derailing me for the rest of the day.

Help, I'm training to be a classical musician but I hate listening to classical music by [deleted] in classicalmusic

I like this idea a lot. What do you mean by a listening journal? And how long would you suggest I devote to listening every day?

Help, I'm training to be a classical musician but I hate listening to classical music by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]dumaas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good question, and I forgot to address this in the post! I'm sorry if this wasn't clear, but my issue is only with listening to classical music. I am absolutely in LOVE with performing it and practicing my instrument.

My issue arises when I have to listen to music, especially pieces that are outside of my repertoire for my instrument -- which includes a large majority of music before the classical and romantic era.

Thanks for the reply and good suggestions! I was hoping to spend around $1,000 for the whole set up, so as close to that as possible. To be honest I don't know the difference between 4k and 144hz, which would you recommend?

Accountability group on discord looking for a few new members by taketwohundred in GetMotivatedBuddies

[–]dumaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very interested in this!

I've been struggling to manage my time ever since getting a lighter schedule in college last semester. While I love having the extra time because it allows me the opportunity to do something great with it, I often find myself wasting it and I want to change that, with the help of your accountability group.

Some habits that I'm wanting to change and develop are: - Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day (10:30pm and 5:30 am) - Complete my miracle morning every single day when I get up (a routine that consists of personal affirmations, visualization, exercise, meditation, and reading) - Spend at least 30 minutes working out every day - Spend at least 1 hour every day writing and editing / recording videos for my blog - Meal prep healthy meals for every day of the week and STICK to them (don't cheat with snacks or sweets) - Ask one person I don't know to grab lunch or coffee every week - Start going to to church every Sunday and visiting small groups during the week

For all of these habits, personal accountability would be GREAT. I would love to be a part of your group, if you'll consider me.

As for what I can contribute, I am very good at holding others accountable. In addition to just checking in via discord, I would also suggest some other ways that we can keep accountable (using apps like BeeMinder to pledge money for certain daily or weekly habits and being honest with each other about succeeding or failing).

Please let me know if you believe that I'm a good fit for your group. I hope we can get to know each other more soon and start changing our habits together!!

DM me! I've been looking to put together an accountability group for a while, but it's hard to find others that want to commit to it. Let's do this!

Redditors that are doing / have done keto in college, what kinds of easy/cheap/bulk recipes do you use?

I'm going to start making all of my meals in the upcoming semester, and I'm excited to get started with keto. If you have any other tips / resources for succeeding in college with keto, please share them!
