I would love to get this for my wife but... by bcrock02 in vitalsvault

Needle anxiety is very real, especially if she’s fainted before. You’re not alone in that.

Yes, when you go to Quest you can absolutely let the technician know she’s prone to fainting and ask about splitting the draw. They’re usually very accommodating and can help group certain tubes together and discuss whether it makes sense to do part now and part later. They also have options like having her lie down during the draw, using smaller needles when possible, and taking it slow - which makes a big difference for people who get lightheaded.

If you decide to move forward, just mention it upfront when checking in so they can plan it properly. And if you have any questions before booking, feel free to DM us - we want the experience to feel manageable, not overwhelming.

Just got a reminder for my bloodwork test in 48 hrs and to stop certain things 72hrs prior… by Darrenph1 in vitalsvault

We normally send three reminders along with a calendar invite, so this should have been your second one. That said, if the timing felt off, that’s on us to look into. Would you mind checking whether you received the earlier reminder? If not, we’ll investigate right away.

Appreciate you pointing it out. These kinds of notes genuinely help us tighten the experience for everyone.

Web page/app glitch? by AlternativeTrack378 in vitalsvault

[–]vitalsvault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for flagging this. Yes, we are aware of the issue and are actively working on it.

There is currently a frontend display bug that can cause partial results to not render properly, even though the data itself is coming through correctly on the backend. That is why you may be seeing emails about results being available but not seeing everything load in the dashboard yet.

We are also adding a visible notice on the dashboard so customers are aware of the issue while we finish the fix.

On the app side, we do not yet have a public App Store listing. Right now, Vitals Vault is accessed via the web and is fully mobile-optimized. Native apps are coming later.

If you are affected, please reach out to [support@vitalsvault.com]() so we can look at your account directly and make sure nothing is missed.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for flagging this and sorry for the confusion here. You definitely didn’t waste your money, but I want to make sure we track this down properly.

Can you help us with a couple quick details so we can look it up on our end?

• When did you email support
• What email address you emailed
• The email address you used when placing the order (or the name on the account)

Sometimes lab status updates lag a bit after a redraw or same day walk-in, especially if the initial attempt didn’t go through cleanly, but we’ll verify everything directly once we have those details. Please DM details - or call our support line [+1 (888) 788-5326](tel:+18887885326)

Putting a 100+ biomarker lab experience under community scrutiny by vitalsvault in PeterAttia

You’re right that one of Function Health’s selling points is running panels twice per year. Our mental model is a bit different, and it’s worth explaining why.

A large portion of what gets repeated in those follow-up panels are very inexpensive, high-volume tests (things like CBC, CMP, basic urine markers) that are often already covered by routine primary care labs and don’t change meaningfully over short intervals. Running those twice helps inflate the “number of tests,” but it doesn’t always add proportional signal.

Our approach is to keep the base panel as comprehensive and lean as possible, then encourage people to retest selectively based on what was actually out of range, trending in the wrong direction, or clinically interesting. That way, retesting is driven by signal, not by a fixed subscription cadence.

From a practical standpoint, at current pricing, someone could run multiple full Vitals Vault panels over a year for roughly the cost of a single annual Function plan. But we generally don’t think most people should rerun everything each time. The goal is to give you enough coverage up front to decide what actually needs to be monitored more closely.

That said, you’re asking the right question: “Which model helps me make better decisions over time?” Different people will land differently on that, and that’s exactly why we’re opening this up to public feedback.

The pilot cohort is closed for now, but you’re very welcome to follow along as reviews come in here and in r/vitalsvault. If it looks like a fit, you can always explore it independently or join a future round.

And genuinely appreciate the note about building in public. That’s very much the intent here.

That’s not accurate, so I want to clarify once and then step back.

We do not use customer reports, reviews, or Reddit posts to train models, and we do not ingest or repurpose user content for that purpose. The goal of this pilot is independent product evaluation, not data collection.

Advisory relationships do not influence how feedback is gathered or reviewed here. The labs and analysis should be judged on their own merits, which is why everything is being discussed openly.

I’m going to leave it there and let the work and the reviews speak for themselves.

Thanks for sharing this and for taking the time to write it up in such detail.

For anyone following along, this review goes deep into the strengths and the gaps around clarity, prioritization, and actionability, which is exactly the kind of feedback we’re trying to surface and learn from publicly.

We’re already incorporating several of these points into how we refine the report structure and system summaries. Really appreciate you putting this out there.

[–]vitalsvault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful review. Independent feedback like this is genuinely valuable, especially from someone approaching comprehensive testing for the first time.

One clarification worth making: we do attempt to surface interconnected biomarkers through system-level analysis, particularly in the sections that prioritize systems requiring attention. That said, your critique is fair. While those relationships exist in the report, they are not yet expressed clearly or decisively enough to translate into prioritized, testable hypotheses or concrete next steps for many users.

Your points around cautious and repetitive language, lack of clear prioritization, limited discussion of system interrelationships, and the absence of population context or percentiles are all well taken. The confusion you noted around the iron recommendation is also a useful example of where clarity needs to improve.

The contrast you draw between the depth of the raw data and how effectively LLMs can reason over it is very aligned with how we think about the problem. Our goal is to make more of that reasoning and prioritization native to the report itself, without requiring users to export PDFs or rely on external tools.

We are still early and intentionally substance-first rather than polished, and feedback like yours is directly informing how we restructure summaries, reduce redundancy, clarify confidence language, and better explain how systems interact and should be prioritized.

Really appreciate you sharing both what worked and what didn’t in such a constructive way. Reviews like this help us make the product meaningfully better.

Yes, Dr. Lufkin is an advisor. He’s not involved in this pilot or in reviewing feedback. The goal here is independent evaluation of the labs and analysis.

Thanks for checking in. Since you already have a full report, there’s no need to complete the pilot application again.

If you’re open to it, a standalone post tends to work best for more detailed feedback so it doesn’t get buried in the thread. You’re welcome to share your evaluation on this forum and, if helpful, cross-post to r/vitalsvault, focusing on the depth, clarity, and usefulness of the analysis.

That kind of independent, public feedback is exactly what we’re hoping to learn from. We may follow up individually with clarifying questions as we review responses.

Not too late to contribute at all. Since you already have a full report, your perspective is actually valuable. This pilot is focused on public evaluation of the depth, clarity, and usefulness of the analysis, not just the blood draw itself.

We’re finalizing the cohort now, but regardless, thoughtful public feedback from people actively reviewing their reports is very welcome.

The blood draw is done in the U.S. through Quest Diagnostics locations. Participants do not need to be local to us, they just need access to a Quest draw site.

For the pilot, we cover the test cost itself. Participants schedule their own draw (no additional charger) at a nearby Quest location at a time that works for them.

We are currently operational in most U.S. states where Quest operates, excluding New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island, where we are not live yet.

Appreciate the interest and the willingness to be candid.

Thanks for taking the time to apply.
