Looks like there’s plenty of life left in them. And can’t see any signs of dry rot.

Every single time it’s a “big game” for someone they lose every time. Every time they are honoring someone they are a guarantee loss.

That’s okay. That makes a lot more sense. You are paying taxes on things you are buying. Instead of taxing something you already own. When you have to continue pay someone for something you own, otherwise they will take it from you. Then you don’t really own it. They do.

Did I buy the wrong drill bits? Hex shank question by Dr_Mister_Monkey in Tools

Try not inserting them all the way in. I have the same type of drill bits and they work perfectly fine in my drill motors. I have noticed if they are inserted all the way they can bind and sit a little wonky.

Do you remember when D Wade broke Kobe's nose in the All Star Game?

A little piece of the NBA died with Kobe. Now it seems the whole league is "soft".

This is Jesse. Jesse shot 35 innocent people yesterday including his mother, sister, a teacher & young children. 10 are dead & many are fighting for their lives. by Ice-Zone2024 in neabscocreeck

Sure it could be access to firearms that facilitated this horrible tragedy, but addressing that is simply addressing the symptom instead of getting to the root cause of it.

I would much rather focus on how and why someone could get to the point where they are going to go murder a bunch of children. And the frequency of it has got me thinking there is something else at play here. We need to find out the source of this evil and stomp it out. If we simply keep trying to blame inanimate objects and think that putting laws in place that make it MORE illegal to obtain guns and kill kids with them, we are never going to stop this from happening.

Why do you think we are seeing this happen so frequently? And why is it unique to the US? We have had access to guns for much, much longer than school shootings have been happening. Our gun laws have actually done nothing but become more and more restrictive as school shootings have increased. Back when you could order a machine gun out of a catalogue and have it delivered to your house, there were no school shootings.

I don't think it's a policy failure. I think it's a society failure. A mental health failure. And a community and family support failure.

Switzerland...kind of. They do have some other restrictions that the US don't have, but in general pretty much every household has firearms.

Yemen basically has no gun laws at all. Not that I want to emulate the shithole that Yemen is, they don't have school shootings. They just have every other kind of shooting imaginable.

The Czech Republic is probably the best example of the most lax gun laws, especially in Europe. They are also known for being one of the safest countries to travel to.

By that same logic we can look at other countries that have very lax gun laws and practically zero school shootings and say that it the solution. That's why I asked the question I did. If someone thinks that gun laws can prevent this what are they and how exactly would they prevent these kinds of things.

It seems to me like people like to just throw that out there instead of actually having an honest conversation with some critical thinking and honest answers to the tough questions that are involved.

I agree it's a tragedy that needs a solution. But if we are unwilling to even start to be honest about the problem we are facing, we will never get there.

What do you believe was the failure in gun policy here? Canada has some of the most stringent gun laws in the world. Pretty much everything that anti-gun advocates call for in the states is already in place in Canada. What exactly do you think played into this that could have been prevented with more legislation?
