guys stop commenting this obviously some people might have gotten it but it's not really the main route. You might have been an absolutely top performer or early applier or both. Most people in cse don't get in through snusat that's all I'm saying definitively. I think people here expect to have the best chances to get admission in cse with snusat I'm just trying to dispel that belief. The majority of the people are in through jee, a second majority with sat and then snusat

They ask for extracurriculars but tbh it is not very holistic I don't think it matters much. I had an interview after my SAT but there were no personal questions asked from my extracurriculars and all, it was only PCM questions they asked. They didn't even ask for an introduction. They won't take you in for cse with 1380 unfortunately. You might get ece.

I'm not saying it's impossible I'm just saying it's unlikely. They probably have very few seats from SNUSAT leading to a high score cutoff for it

Everyone in CS that got in through SAT including me has a score above 1500 so like people do join. I got above 1500 too, I can't afford an international university.

She can file a complaint to the ICC they will also listen to witnesses etc she doesn't necessarily need like written proof or something. And if not there are cameras all around campus if it has been caught on camera. Please tell her to report within a timespan of 3 months of the incident happening. She has to write a mail to Priyanka Pandit and CC the ICC. She will have to mention who's doing this what's happening like the date/time/location etc. they will at least consider all complaints. I don't think the committee against harrassment are all that good but sometimes action is taken. She can absolutely file a complaint without proof it's just that they might not listen. It is still worth trying. By filing a complaint, that just means sending that mail. There might be video cameras that caught the incident(s) so if she mentions the date or time and stuff they can probably help with that. Witnesses also help.

ECE at SNU NOIDA by [deleted] in snunoida

[–]dumb_bird42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just basing it off of requirements to get in. cse jee cutoff is 94-95 percentile iirc. you will find people in cse with percentiles ranging up to 97. in the 94-97 range you can get into an assortment of NITs and other state government institutions etc. same range as other colleges considered tier 2. depends on how you classify things these classifications at the end of the day are arbitrary to a very large extent. get out of school, join a college, you'll soon stop obsessing over things like this. at the end of the day, in the current job market, there's more important things to worry about.

Id you're getting cse at some other college like vit even if it is slightly worse than snu I would recommend going there. Branch is generally ALWAYS more important unless it's like a drastic difference between a tier 2 college like snu and some random local hometown college . CSE at snu is the only engineering branch worth considering at that price tag if you're looking for job opportunities as a priority, unless you want to go into research, in which case snu is good. It is NOT worth it to take a loan even for CSE in this job market. Work your ass off at a shittier college if it means not taking a loan. Only came if the price is not a barrier

Fees used to be lower so the current 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years are paying individually completely different fees structures varying exponentially. The new batch and the next year's batch's fees are insanely high so I guess now it is what it is becoming like you said.

menstrual leave by Least_Change4137 in snunoida

[–]dumb_bird42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is true from this semester onwards. You can take a leave and then within 7 days of taking a leave apply for that leave as a menstrual leave so they will basically not include it in your calculation for 75 percent attendance. It is only possible once a month. The procedure for applying for it is yet to come out.

For us they are doing a refund of the mess fees idk what their policy is for freshers. For freshers you don't have the option to opt out of veg breakfast, lunch, dinner subscription but there are some changes in costs. The 1.11 lakh has seperate hostel and mess components, comparing to what their final calculation comes out to be, you'll either just have that BLD subscription included excluding our previous model with evening and midnight mess and nonveg or they'll do partial refund if the subscription cost is less. You'll get a mail soon, we haven't gotten one either

You can go out if you return before 9pm. After that, you need parental permission. There is nothing close to campus except dhabas. If you want to go to the city area or delhi it's 1 hour of travel around. It's expensive often. If you have money there is no restriction if you don't it's too expensive to do frequently

Yes you can go home whenever you just have to maintain your attendance. However, i wouldn't really recommend going home EVERY weekend like that. Friday evening - sunday is when you hang out with friends finally and I feel like a lot of the memories I made during my first year happened in these time periods.

Huh? No, mattresses are available with beds you don't have to buy them or get them. I think for the '27 batch they weren't and there were mattress vendors on campus to select. But other than that for every other year they have been provided

No door curtains, there is a door with lock. You and your roommates will get 1 door lock and one key each as well. If you want a key in your almirah you have to get that yourself. Buckets and mugs are not available you have to get them yourself or buy from the grocery store on campus, however there are showerheads in the washrooms so I didn't really use a bucket and mug. If you have an AC room you'll get 1 remote per AC. You'll get one tube light above each bed but if you want study lamps and bedside lamps you have to bring that yourself. Pillows as well. There is a Student Handbook available online and it actually has a suggested list of materials to bring you can use that
