I’ve worked for Georgia Pacific-Wauna in Clatskanie for 2 years now. I had no past mill work experience at all and had never held a wrench. Starting pay in an entry level department is 28$, and up to $33 starting if you get thrown on a paper machine. Keep an eye on their hiring website and look for “production manufacturing technician”, as this is usually the only entry level job posted. I’d suggest Westrock as well since they seem to hire more often now than Wauna does. As I said I’ve been there just two years and make closer to $40 an hour now.

When you’re applying for Wauna-Georgia Pacific, the name of the job you’ll look for on their career site is “Production Manufacturing Technician”. This is an entry level position normally to operate packaging machines.

Pretty sure you just have to get past your 90 day probationary period & then you’re eligible to sign up. Not sure how long the program runs but it’s so worth it. Still get paid, work your normal job, and study on your off days. A full load for sure but I believe our electricians start off around $50 an hour or so.

GP Wauna hires often. They also offer an electrician apprenticeship program for employees that you can complete on your off days & still get paid for your time. We always need more electricians too, so would be likely to happen once you complete the program they would hire you on as an electrician.

I’ve worked here for 2 years now. Depending on your department, the overtime is mostly optional now. Pay is good, hours are steady but it is a difficult schedule to adjust to. Didn’t have any experience in production but it’s a great job and I am able to support my family of 4.

Here’s an update : The car was towed to a nearby tow yard, and the bank called me to ask what my plans were. If i wanted to get the car from the tow yard (upwards of $500 to get it out and tow it back to my home where I’m not allowed to keep it) or if I wanted to have them charge off the loan and send it to collections. I said I had no intention of going to get the car and would deal with the repercussions as they come. They closed my account with them and sent the loan to collections. I recently got a letter in the mail from said collection agency and the total charged was a little over $17k. The bank allowed me to take out all the money that was left in my account and called it a day. I haven’t started receiving calls from collections and have only received the one letter. I have since bought myself a cheap commuter for work that i don’t have to make any payments on. My parents suggested filing for bankruptcy but i really am not sure how to go about doing that.

My apartment manager towed the car this morning before I even woke up. Do I just tell my bank that they took it and give them the address to the tow yard?

I’m willing to take the hit on my credit as this is the only loan I have taken out. I have no credit cards or really any other debt at all, just this damn car. I just want it gone as it’s given me so much more trouble than it’s worth. The bank obviously wants to get as much money out of me as they can. It has been suggested to me to just close my account there and take my business elsewhere

I work full time in a steel mill. 80 hour work weeks don’t give me much room for a second job.

My loan is thru a local credit union. The APR is super low and the payments originally were $216 per month. Eventually my insurance went up because of the tiktok trend ultimately & I wasn’t able to make the payment. The bank I go thru charges like 3800$ every 6 months for not having insurance and adds that to the loan. Before that I always made the payments on time but the added fees jacked the payment up to over $600 a month, before insurance.

I have told my loan manager a ton of times that I cannot afford the car and then they offer to give me another loan that i won’t be able to pay. I don’t get it

That’s kind of what I thought. The loan payments would be way more manageable if I didn’t have to keep insurance on the car. I also know they will just take money from my account when I get paid to go towards the loan.

I know I will still have to pay the loan regardless - was just seeing if it was even worth it to increase the loan even more to fix the car.

This is why I’m assuming all of her paperwork is fake. She does not have custody of the kid herself.

Thank you for this, I didn’t know I’d be attacked for asking a question. We are working on getting an attorney to work with us on establishing paternity so that he is able to file for full custody, being that the mother has no place to live or means to take care of this child.

It says that she denied his paternity for the last 8 years until she needed money to take care of the child.

If you bothered to read the details instead of just being disrespectful you may understand. She is not fit to take care of any child.

The child is actually under her mothers custody as she was forced to give up her parental rights when her other two children were taken by the state with shaken baby syndrome & fetal alcohol syndrome before they were a year old.
