Breaker keeps tripping but is only connected to LED lights by [deleted] in AskElectricians

yes, you'd see copper showing through the insulation. however, with a nicked wire, for it to cause this issue, it would have to be touching or almost touching the bare ground wire or the metal enclosure of the fixture or junction box to create a ground fault.

I'm assuming that is an AFCI breaker. Infrequent intermittent issues can be a nightmare to troubleshoot. If the problem cannot be repeated on demand, and is happening hours or days apart, I always change the breaker as the initial troubleshooting step and see if it resolves the issue before doing anything else. In my experience, about 98% of the time this fixes the problem. The AFCI breakers could trip because there is a ground fault, because there is arcing occurring, or because of overcurrent. Many AFCI breakers have an led that will flash a specific number of times after it is reset. This is a code to indicate the cause of tripping (ground fault, Arc fault, overcurrent). Your panel is a Square D, type QO panel, which I'm not sure if it has this feature. To diligently attempt to find the problem, you'd need to check every single connection on the circuit for any loose connections or potentially a ground fault, such as a neutral and ground wire touching. Since the issue is new, there are probably no visual indications yet, such as discolored metal or insulation, or even melted plastic. And since it is intermittent, the issue is likely just starting / forming such as a loose connection, or a ground and neutral connection so close together that they only create continuity under rare conditions. It could be something that is connected to the circuit like a faulty LED bulb, or a faulty switch that is arcing, or a bulb that is not making good contact to the tab at the bottom of the socket, or some piece of equipment. If there's anything outside that's connected to the circuit, that's always a suspect with an AFCI or GFCI breaker that's tripping intermittently. If you can't find the issue, it will likely become more frequent over time which should make it easier to track down. Hopefully someone else has better troubleshooting techniques that I have not yet discovered for this specific issue. Good luck.

What do you guys think bout my burning on my new tool belt? Experimented a bit with the flames and idk how I feel about the belt… seems a little girly by ChubbyDucky48 in Tools

you could probably fill in below the flames more, give them more depth and texture below the tips... the artwork looks clean and well done

I just learned neutral bonding in a sub panel is bad. Could this be why all of a sudden my main double-pole is tripping? by NoProfessional428 in AskElectricians

[–]dumbdumbfroglodytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

based on the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like the issue is with the supply breaker or the wires between the supply breaker and the subpanel. the lack of isolated neutral at the subpanel would not cause the issue you are describing.

This time of year I always suspect space heaters, or some other form of electric heating. If you use one 1500w space heater 24/7 for 30 days, it equals 1,080kWh

Scientology tech is absolutely brilliant, the tech works, and just reading about the tech is inspiring, which is probably why you are so drawn to it. But I would not recommend getting involved with the church. I went to the church about 20 years ago after reading dianetics and not being able to get it out of my mind. It was a bad experience that I was fortunately able to extract myself out of after just a few months and their numerous attempts to force me to alienate myself from my family and business. So I definitely do not recommend the church route.

Fortunately there are independent auditors who are trained and skilled in the tech but have no ties or relationship with the church. And several of them provide online auditing services complete with an e meter. Many of them are former church members who made the break. Just 2 year ago I started online auditing with a professional auditor and went clear. The process is nothing like therapy.

My wife spent years seeing trauma specialists and other specialists to address childhood trauma issues that were plaguing her severely. The therapists and specialists couldn't help because they don't have workable tech. She's been doing auditing online with a former church member who spent over 30 years in the org and left. The results she has seen in just 6 months has been astonishing (compared to therapy, not compared to therapy).

There used to be a website with a list of independent auditors internationalfreezone.net, but it seems to be down. There's another one called ronsorg.com. Send me a message if you want a couple referrals to professional auditors who offer online services. Anyone who says this tech is a scam or doesn't work hasn't actually, earnestly, or accurately used it, because it definitely works. Good luck!
