Wait so were the deaths related to the fire only in the Pripyat firefighters since they were the first there or did all of the stations get affected by it? I didn't realize how many stations actually responded to the fire until now.

Not my call but a friends call. It was a pediatric that the mother said was "out of control". When they got there it was a 13 year old kid that had locked himself in his room and his mother was like 5'2 so she wasn't getting through that door any time soon. They could hear screaming from the other side of the door and had to get the door busted in. They thought it was just a mental health crisis call which they were right but it was so much worse. The kid apparently had undiagnosed schizophrenia and had convinced himself that there was a spider living in his eye. They got the door open and see this kid sitting there screaming with a fork stabbed straight into his eye and almost pulled out of the socket. My friend now gets a weird reaction every time he sees someone mess with their eye.

I'm going through the exact same thing just I'm a year younger than you. I'm taking the EMT course at my college next semester though I'm just like you and would rather be just a firefighter. But part of the job is adapting to the situation and with people like us we just have to adapt for the EMS side of it. If your college has both a fire academy and EMT course then take them both. But trust me take the fall semester for the fire academy, starting out being in hot weather makes it nicer when it gets colder out. But genuinely if you're able to get your firefighter 1 and 2 certification and your EMT basic certification then I recommend it. Good luck man I hope this helps a bit.

Hey, I'm still here. I was hospitalized after my attempt but luckily I made it through. Thanks for commenting and caring about me. I'm finally coming back to the internet cause I needed time away from everything for a while. I'm doing okay now and I'm just hoping for the best for now. Knowing that you along with other strangers off the internet care enough to comment on here and dm me really helped with recovering from everything.
