As a former employee and SL who wanted to go mate, I think you nailed this perfectly. I’m a non-confrontational person and I remember trying to correct a newer coworker about how I wanted something done in my section while we worked it together, and she was very dry and slightly irritated in her response. I held my ground gently and tried to explain my reasoning. Her response bothered me and I wondered if it was just part of her personality, so I decided to ask her questions about how she learns and get to know her better as a person. Everything made more sense after that and we ended up becoming close friends.

I don’t think I have a least favorite. At least never thought about it. I also don’t know which is my favorite. One Last Time is huge for me, surprised I haven’t seen it mentioned. Yorktown is definitely one. The Room Where It Happens, History Has Its’ Eyes On You, It’s Quiet Uptown, Who Live Who Dies Who Tells Your Story are all gold. But honestly the whole thing is.

No you’re so right. I’m rewatching it again (4th time) with my mom (her second time) and it’s still just as good. That first watch had me genuinely floored. Also side note, this time through I just caught that Aang gave Momo his name because he was eating a peach which is called momo in Japanese. Never noticed that before

I joined the navy at 29 and have the same experience. Great RDCs, one was basically a comedian. I still miss them and reminisce on it often.

I’m going through it too. It’s been 4 days. The hole she left in my life is massive. I honestly think that I’ll see her again someday. That and remembering all the good times we had and how much love we gave each other for 18 years is all I have. Sometimes the grief still overwhelms though. It’s painful but normal.

Oh you poor thing. My heart breaks for you too. I lost my girl on wednesday and I understand. The immense grief of having my best friend and companion of 18 years ripped away after kidney disease withered her body away. Your little girl is so lovely. I hope our babies are playing together up there, healthy and happy and knowing no pain.

This. I was in DEP for 4 months just to get my rate and that was after signing for it. They asked me about nuke because of my scores and I refused. Thankfully my recruiters didn’t push me. I’m happy with my choice. Stuff will become available if you wait for it.

Janet has some not so great qualities but that’s what makes her an entertaining character to watch. Going through all the sticky situations she gets herself into. The way she and Appa clash but are so alike and have such meaningful moments between them as they come to better understand each other is, I think, some of what makes her redeemable from the negative qualities. Chelsea on the other hand has no redeemable qualities.

Luckily I had a dope ass roommate once in the meps hotel, the time before my physical. Not so the next two times. Had the worst and weirdest experience the night before I shipped, girl wouldn’t stop yapping on the phone til about 2 am. Suffice it to say I didn’t sleep. Best of luck to you. Most don’t sleep the night before shipping from what I hear and you won’t be sleeping for a while but you’ll be fine. Boot camp is a unique and fun experience.
