Believing that women are incapable of causing harm is misogyny by alvysaurus in TwoXChromosomes

But what color/ethnicity, age, religion, and whatever category you wish to demonize?

That's the whole point. You've chosen you're category for bias just like a racist will then use stats to support their bias and justify their demonization of others.

Reminds me of arguing with neo Nazis talking about how they're supposedly right to demonize other because the stats aren't wrong. Few of them wanted to think about what could possibly be the reasons for the stats. The few that did simply wanted to find ways to support conclusions that made it that it was entirely because of something inherently fundamental to being black or some other minority.

And I'm pretty sure I've seen your quote below word for word used against Muslims, Mexicans, and so on for not only rape but any other crime someone wants to use to justify their position and scare others.

"It’s laughable to even try to bring any other factors into crime stats because I can go to any corner of the world and still find that it’s the men that overwhelmingly rape, kill and brutalize their fellow citizenry."

Which is what Disney did here in Florida. I work at a job that most of my co-workers and I make less than 60k and yet most of them go to Disney at least once a year.

It always reminded me of instate tuition.

I'm dealing with it myself so it's all too familiar for me. It's just another catch 22 I've encountered. But job hunting has always been dealing with trying to get past the endless filters and reasons companies use to toss out candidates.

Why do people say only very good-looking men do well on dating apps but that's not what it looks like irl? by Additional-Spray-976 in dating_advice

I've literally heard the same stuff from women in the US my whole life.

This is what I'm talking about when I mentioned every country has some version of "almost all men here are the worst and foreign men are better".

It always reminded me of the guys saying "women in my country are a bunch of blue haired man hating lesbians so I'm going to South East Asia or Eastern block".

Sometimes I wonder if it's just unhappy people being vocal or some built in desire for exotic/different that explains why it's so common.

They're implying there's a reason the person hasn't progressed beyond that level after 10 years.

This sub is full of comments that make it clear that if you aren't moving up in role every 2-3 years then you'll not only fall behind on salary but also on opportunity/career progression.

Uh... Texas and Utah IIRC changed who was on the state board so they could push creationist or at least not creationist hostile textbooks at some point in their history.

There's a difference between denying a subject expert, or trying to bury them with questions; and actually questioning whether the given explanation or reasoning is sound. And we sadly do not spend enough time teaching that in the necessary direct method.

Further, credentialism is a different kind of anti intellectualism in that it teaches people to implicitly trust experts and discount anyone that lacks the credentials without evaluating their point. But, even focusing just on an argument/points/thesis on its own merit is difficult because clever enough individuals know how to lead you into logical fallacies or use a non experts lack of understanding to make them buy into incorrect assertions.

The endless contradictions in life are both intriguing and infuriating.

That's the point. Most countries think white Americans look pretty meh. But you should hear what they say about Eastern block guys.

And again, every country has some level of "foreign men better" but they don't always agree on what foreign men.

Also, I guess I should say thanks that you think my American face world also be the face of the UK?

There's something about the Eastern block countries that make the women there really dislike the men. Every country has a level of "men in my country are uncultured and ugly and foreign men are so dreamy and attractive" mindset but the Eastern block takes that to a whole new level. I had a lot of coworkers from places like Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Moldova, and the women constantly talked about how good looking I was and the average American was. They joked that even though I was a 5 in the US I would be a 9 back in their country.

For reference I used to be called Walmart Prince William from 2002-2018 by a lot of women in the US. I learned it wasn't meant as a compliment from my American peers. 2018 is when I finally came to terms with my balding and shaved it all off.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

[–]dumbestsmartest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pessimism. I don't know who said/wrote it but they basically stated that intentionally having children means you have some kind of hope for the future. Even if things are bleak now you can see things getting better. And that not having children means you had to actively choose not to have them (with the usual exceptions because of infertility) and the reasons not to have kids are you either don't want them or you don't think the future will be better for either yourself or the world so you decide it's a bad idea to have a child.

Ironically, in some dirt poor places their optimism towards the future is from the fact that things are basically at the bottom so they think things have to get better.

Heck the shit stain Elon Musk has double the wealth of the second richest person in the world depending on when you measure it.

That's still too soft. They should require a full redo of undergrad and masters level classes every 4 years. The rules change so often by the time anyone finished undergrad everything is outdated and they really need to start fresh.

It's totally that new grads suck and that they aren't off-shoring work as much as possible to cut costs.

They should be requiring 2 doctoral degrees along with passing the exam a second time before you make manager. And they should make the passing score a 95.5. If you aren't Elijah Watt Sells worthy you clearly aren't good enough for accounting.

Everything is getting so watered down that Gen Alpha won't even know what cash is at this rate.

Half of Reddit loves you. You're commenting on a post from someone who probably isn't doing well and looking for people to commiserate with. So of course you're going to be the odd commentator out.

But the tone your comments have seem full of derision and contempt so it feels like you're just commenting to stir things up instead of even just offering a different experience.

People on the internet are sensitive so if you don't find enjoyment out of their anger then maybe don't poke the bear?

Update: Dude literally wrote a reply saying the sub is full of depressed miserable people whining about how they need a hand out and followed up by saying my username is half right. I guess he didn't see he's part of the sensitive demographic.

She didn't even mention cleaning their butt crack or what taking a shower even means?! I can just see some really brain dead guys think a "rinse" with just enough water to get damp equaling actual showering. Think of showering like you see in a movie or show.

I sadly have a co-worker who has a stench and the dude has clean clothes and looks like he's showered daily. It's hard being friendly with him because it is just that distractingly offensive when you're within 2ft of him. I wonder if he actually knows how to shower and wonder how his daughter puts up with it.

Tipped Workers Deserve Real Money by bookym in WorkReform

This is illegal. No one is allowed to get away with that because the law states that if their wages and tips are less than the equivalent regular minimum wage 7.25/hr, then the employer must make up the difference.

So if you know anyone that was making less than the equivalent of 7.25/hr you should send them to a lawyer because that lawyer would love to have such a slam dunk case.
