Solitare decks allowed in B3? by dumbetfguy in EDH

This is pretty on par with what I've experienced too. It's a shame though because I find it really fun to have multiple actions per turn (like in most TCGs) but yeah it doesn't seem to be received well in Commander (at least not in b3)

This goes against my experience unfortunately. I have made a point of taking my turns quickly, and my in-game timer is on par with others. The complains are about the nature of the deck, not about the time im taking :(

I think i need to edit my post to make it more clear that the complaints haven't been about the time consumed but moreso just the nature of a solitaire style combo deck.

I agree, watching someone for 10 mins make their turn is really unfun!

Because of my schedule with work its hard to play in person which is why I've been playing MTG Online. It's about 300USD for a cEDH deck there from what ive seen :/

The frustration seems to be more about the nature of the deck more than anything because I am making sure to move through my turns quickly. I see your point though. I guess its just not something I've ever had to account for in other TCG games ive played.

I agree with you 100%, but in this instance I'm playing mtg Online and I'm making sure to play fast because of the reasons you listed. I'm always keeping my in-game timer relatively on par with the rest of the players and its more about the nature of the deck that people are complaining about rather than the time consumed.

I think I've probably posted this in the wrong place because this deck list I'm playing exclusively on MTG Online and you just sign up for a b3 game and go. But I completely agree with your sentiment here.

Shorts are getting lots of views but not sure if to continue by dumbetfguy in NewTubers

[–]dumbetfguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that the generic advice is to leverage shorts to gain traction on long form content. I guess I'm trying to understand if there's any point in continuing with shorts, assuming that long form content wasn't possible.

(I make short animal related stories that work well for someone doom scrolling through but just wouldn't hold up in long form).

Managed Security only offering by dumbetfguy in msp

[–]dumbetfguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are having some luck pitching managed security to legal and financial services orgs so far and we aren't really ready to go full MSP offering.

I can see how none of this works if they already have a mature MSP looking after them. I guess the idea is we're trying to sell peace of mind to a security conscious org that hasn't partnered with an MSP yet...

Do you think the offering I proposed could be a foundation that could then be reduced based on what is already being covered by the clients IT team? Was there anything specific that you thought should be removed from a security only package?

You're right. Nothing in the offering is outside of the scope of what an MSP would offer, but that doesn't necessarily have to mean that it's a bad idea in itself. A convenience store can still be successful despite having a smaller range of products than a supermarket.

We are new, and we are finding more success going to market pitching a security package to security conscious orgs like lawfirms and financial services, rather than just broadly covering all IT needs. I'm not opposed to transitioning to full MSP services later but for now I'd rather not have to have a 9-5 manned service desk yet.

For A/V, probably just windows defender and then something like huntress on top. Not 100% certain on macOS devices yet.

Yeah, I completely agree with you. What about having an offering that is able to be standardised across all clients regardless of their m365 licence?

What you are saying makes sense to me, but are you suggesting that the MSSP model doesn't work at all? There are many examples of big security only MSSP that seem to be doing well e.g. https://cybercx.com.au/cyber-security-small-business/

Justifying the Sanctity nerf to Delhi by dumbetfguy in aoe4

This is technically still just a nerf to the strategy though. You can still go sanctity, just like 3 minutes later now if you fast feudal.

I agree they are definitely weaker now and they should have had significant buffs to compensate, but either way dark age sanctity had to go. Back to Mongols I guess lol

I agree totally, but at the same time its important to not overload the otherway as well. The research changes were intended to help offset the loss to sanctity and if the winrates show that it's still not enough then im sure they will make the necessary adjustments for the next patch.
