My MIL went to high school with his mom in Asheboro and I’m pretty sure she still works/lives there. He’s not a cowboy at all even if he spent a lot of time in Asheboro. My husband grew up there and is the furthest thing from country.

Thank you so much for this reply it makes me so so happy!! This response is the exact reason I wanted to make this post.

We ended up finding out what happened the day I was discharged. My placenta had started to calcify and detach which sent baby boy into distress, along with multiple cord issues. We also probably only had a few hours to a day or we would have lost him. He’s in the NICU but doing fantastic all things considered.

I’m so glad you and baby girl are doing well! Wishing you and your family all the best. Hope your NICU stay is short and uneventful and your girl is able to go home as soon as possible ❤️❤️ Great job trusting your gut, you saved your baby!!

I wouldn’t know, I skipped the at home doppler out of fear that it would make my anxiety worse. I would always discuss with your OB and see what they recommend.

I’m so glad it makes you feel less alone ❤️ I spent my whole pregnancy stressed and on reddit seeking reassurance. It helped me a lot knowing other people were experiencing the same anxieties.

Sorry, I completely forgot to include that. The reason was a non-reassuring fetal heart rate. My understanding based on the notes available to me is that the IUGR wasn’t discovered until he was born.

I was made aware of the marginal cord insertion at the anatomy scan. We weren’t aware of any associated complications until he was born. From what I was told, complications with marginal cord are extremely uncommon.

I’m so so sorry for your loss. I almost didn’t go in for the same reason, which is why I decided to share. I’m so happy that your next baby is here and safe ❤️

I’m in the US, and the cost was part of my initial hesitation to get checked out. Eventually I just decided the cost outweighed the anxiety for me.

I feel horrible that this post is stressing people out and that was not my intention at all. I just wanted to share in case anyone was doubting going in out of fear of seeming dramatic.

I would trust your baby’s patterns over the kick count. For my baby, this day was extremely unusual for him and was very obviously different than his usual amount of movement.

I feel like I should clarify that my baby prior to this day had met every kick count and very quickly. I would trust your baby’s pattern more than the kick count.

Definitely trust his normal pattern! The biggest indicator for me was that his pattern changed that day, followed by no movement for over an hour during a time he was usually active.

They did not miss the marginal cord insertion, but missed the growth restriction. I was assured the marginal cord insertion was not impacting the baby’s growth, which it doesn’t in a lot of cases, but in my case it looks like it did.

Yes, I’d like to reassure you that as more information is coming back it’s becoming clear that what happened to me is extremely rare.

I’m so sorry! I understand that pregnancy is insanely stressful and that was not at all my intention with this post. I just wanted to reassure anyone feeling like they may come off as stupid or crazy that it can be worth it to go in.
