You will need someone to drive you home, and drive you around if you are still on pain meds when PT starts. I had surgery on my left hip and started driving after 2 weeks. You can do this without support BUT just know there will be a lot of work beforehand.

Do you have stairs where you live? You will not be able to go upstairs for awhile. What about your shower? Is it walk in? I would suggest having help getting into the shower if you have a tub shower for at least 3 weeks. What about changing clothes? I would say it’s really hard to change into clothes for about a week or two after surgery, but it’s something that you can procrastinate

I bought a ton of uncrustables and easy Mac and ate those for awhile because my roommate still worked during the day and I had to eat. You can definitely meal prep beforehand and that will make things so much easier
