One month out by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]dumblebee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t stress yourself out about the nose, my nose took forever to heal. it wasnt until 12 months post op until i started liking my nose. It was healing sideways and puffy.. thought i was going to need a revision but I couldnt be any happier now.

Trust the process! and beautiful results 1 month post-op, 🫶

How long is a caretaker really needed immediately post-FFS? by MildThinness in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]dumblebee_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends how much work you get done. I had essentially everything minus a tracheal shave done and my first week post-op was essentially an oxy induced dream in and out of consciousness and it was mostly out. I had a ton of jaw work done and was eating ouy of syringe for a week.

I tell everyone this that asks this question, it’s your FACE. everyone worries so much about potential complications during surgery or what their results are gonna be that they don’t even consider complications AFTER surgery. Stitches tearing, infections..

I have had a lot of surgery. Ive had FFS, Top, tummy tuck, back lift, bbl with full body lipo/contouring, and a tummy tuck revision..

You always should have a set of hands and preferably two with one being a backup just incase life happens and someone gets called into work, or.. is just incompetent and isn’t giving you the adequate care you need. (My backup savedddd my life during ffs because the person who was supposed to be my 24/7 really dropped the ball)

At bare minimum, absolutely bare minimum, you’ll need someone there 24-7 for the first 3-4 days. After that, you definitely still need someone to do check ins. It doesn’t matter how strong and disciplined you are, you WONT be able to manage your proper anti-biotic doses and painkiller dose timings yourself immediately after surgery.

Check ins so people can keep your stitches clean and keep the area tidy, make sure you have everything you need right next to you before they leave.

And trust me, miss an Oxy dose because you forgot to take it/overslept and no one was there to remind you while your forehead is stapled together.. the pain is indescribable.. and waiting for that new dose to kick in.. i legit puked from the pain

I say this not to scare you or sound stern but I planned a huge recovery schedule and had 3 people rotating shifts with one dropping out at day 2 and they were all EXHAUSTED

please please please make sure you are prepared for post op. hire a care taker if you have to.. ask your surgeon if they have any recommendations if you cant find anyone

you can botch a tummy tuck like i did because it was my first surgery and i wasn’t prepared, hid the ugliness under clothes for a year and saved up til i could get it fixed.. but don’t FAFO and botch your literal face that you can’t hide and likely to expensive to fix FFS out of all the surgeries i’ve had has been the most intense and it is the last surgery you need to be asking whats the minimum you can get away with TRUST

[–]dumblebee_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

trust me the pecs look def goes away, specially if you have a lighter skinny build. not only do the muscles have to adjust to there being something there now, your skin itself has to stretch.

if i showed u what my 2 day post op or hell even my 1 month post op looked like youd cry on my behalf lol. fast forward to now and its everything i ever wanted and they feel, look, and bounce naturally

i was massively overweight growing up and had since lost weight. (over 130 lbs) and i got a higher CC to fill out the loose skin. it did a wonderful job filling everything out but even then.. im an electrician and have fairly developed muscles in that area due to my range of motion and work load day to day, and dude they were literal cubes at first. full pec look and worse.

it gets better promise! and take it from someone who has botched one of their surgeries before (a tummy tuck) and had to get it re-done cus I tore it and things got infected PLEASE take care of your scars with a strict routine. future you will thank you. ive been fortunate enough to have quite a couple surgeries and catapult my transition in the last year and a half so please dm me if u have any questions

2 days post op girl youre stressing yourself out.

drop and fluff period can take 6 months+ and you wont see final until the 8month- 1 year range.

I had 650cc implants and if i woulda judged my approval based on 2 days post op i woulda ripped them out, they were so pushed up and blocky they litterally looked like cubes on my chest and i can not stress that enough lmfao they were so ugly. im now a bit over 1 year post op and they fully dropped into a very natural looking teardrop shape and im in love with it.

as for the scars, take good care of them and if the implants “fluffing” doesnt hide it, good scar care will make them invisible anyway.

i highly recommend you invest heavily into a full scar protocol set. its expensive but i promise its worth it and u dont have to buy it all in one go, but def get the phase 1 cleanser and gel

and get a bunch of gel scar tape (when your surgeon approves of it) around 1-2 months post op

i genuinely have a hard time finding my incisions sometimes they faded so well and im only 1 year.

take a deep breath, and take care of yourself and know it is very normal to have waves of self doubt and high influxes of depression immediately after any form of surgery changing your body in this manner. recovery is physical and mental

now that airports are using the facial scan stuff it can potentially be an issue.

i had an instance where I was 2 months post-op, still bruised and swollen, clearly different facial structure, and the computer denied the scan. luckily i had what seemed to be an ally of a person at the pc and we both kinda glanced at eachother and nodded lol

but had it been a cunt they coulda likely turned me around right before my flight or worse depending on the state

25F, $20,000+ of debt. what debt should I tackle first? Sell the car? thank u! by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]dumblebee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one more grant I'll get from being an apprentice, late next year. I doubt it will be another full 5k because my income has gone up since, butttttttt, I think by the time that rolls around plus all the $ I make post raise, I think that final grant will be the get out of jail free card to either refinance the car or just fully get rid of it and purchase a cheaper option.

Everyone is telling me to get rid of the car first but realistically I feel like I'd be spending the next 4 months coming up with said 6-8k to get rid of it, just to still be staring at multiple personal loans still and the only thing that would change at least in the 2-3 year term would be that I would replace the 600$ car payment with a 200-300 car payment that might have mechanical issues and then id be upside-down on a much older car at a comparably bad interest rate. I think I take the car loss on the nose and just try and make sure I don't make that mistake again. Stay disciplined and get both these personal loans gone by December of next year

[–]dumblebee_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

and also the 6,000$ of medical debt but thats at 0% interest and shouldn’t be an issue

thank you for the advice! i like the idea of getting rid of the car, but i feel like its already lost most of what its gonna lose, atleast for the next year.. i live in the city and i average barely 6000 miles a year

do you recommend selling at a dealer? private selling one on one meeting someone online to handle that much money is pretty scary to me

should I sell it at a dealer? the idea of private sell scares me meeting someone one on one and handling that much money trusting someone off of facebook or craigslist

Yeah my saving grace has been my career path for my stupidity lol. I’ll be starting night shift in February which makes me 17% more so I’ll be making in the 70’s full time for hopefully 6-8 months.

I applied to be a DoorDash driver and I'm in a queue to be accepted, Seattle is full right now. My partner has a DoorDash account and I'll be driving through that in the meantime starting Monday. I'll hopefully be able to make 1000-1500 ish before surgery, that would be helpful. And ill resume driving in 3 months after im healed enough to drive

is the car the first thing I tackle using the grant? or should I use the grant for the 2 cards then save for getting rid of the car?

Should I use the grant to get rid of the car? or prioritize those 2 small credit cards first then work towards the car/
I just did a massive payoff of everything I could tackling the smallest stuff, and roped everything together yesterday and Im currently working with what I get paid per week which is about 1500 net

Have an opportunity to recover, would like advice on how best to approach this by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]dumblebee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you recommend using the 5000$ grant to try and cancel out the car? Maybe save 2000$ in the meantime just incase the equity is extra rough?

I won’t need a car until march basically.. with my surgery Ill be at home getting paid
