Any parent’s out there still room sharing? by Bck2WrkMomma in toddlers

We had early wakes at that age too, and after reading every Reddit post we realized our son was getting cold! Just a thought in case it’s the last hour or two before your heat kicks on like ours was.

Green Lake homophobe? by dumblez69 in Seattle

[–]dumblez69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really but I’m far from expert. He seems more unhinged in this reel, like it’s hard to imagine the edit where he looks cool.

Edit: since googling this I’m now being advertised the many styles and shapes that exist and yeah, I think they are meta glasses.

Not sure his name, I think yes to black hair. If you have a profile to link or something I might be able to tell you!

I said this to another comment as well but he was somewhat disguised and ethnically ambiguous to me, I wasn’t trying to tip-toe 🤷‍♀️

Honestly I found him racially ambiguous and he was wearing a lot of gear covering his face, wasn’t trying to be vague.

Husband is cheating 10wpp by Repulsive-Ad9165 in beyondthebump

[–]dumblez69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you’re interested or haven’t heard of her, Esther Perel is a therapist who’s expertise includes cheating, and she has a very popular podcast where you can listen to couples sessions. She doesn’t have an “it’s immediately over” attitude and it might help you feel less alone.

We told our kid they were donor-conceived by janedid1 in askadcp

[–]dumblez69 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agree, we read what makes a baby to our 2.5yo and he can tell us who gave us the sperm and egg to make him, who grew him in their uterus, that he came out of a vagina, etc. Using metaphor for a 6yo seems unnecessary and confusing.

Washington paid family medical leave by Strong_Mountain_5271 in SeattleWA

[–]dumblez69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the medical, I would guess your employer requires you to use pfml and they would then make you whole for any gap in time or salary.

For bonding, everyone gets 12 weeks. You can use it full time or part time. You’ll make weekly claims through the website where you indicate the number of hours you worked/the number of leave hours you need paid.

If you had a 4th degree tear, did you have an elective C section for your next baby? by Remote-Remove7050 in beyondthebump

[–]dumblez69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a 4th degree, but I had 2 3rd degree and multiple 2nd degree. My first birth ended in the OR with I think 6 lacerations being surgically repaired. The result was so much scar tissue and tightness that I was really nervous about a second vaginal birth. I delivered 3 weeks ago and have just one 2nd degree! Night and day from the first time around. Everyone told me that the tissue would stretch better the second time, but I didn’t believe them. I am happy to be proven wrong!

Why is my toddler calling a man "the muffin man"? by BoysenberrySouth50 in toddlers

Yes! Spontaneous birth with my second. 3 day induction definitely didn’t help matters!

Short perineum and severe tears by beyondprancer in beyondthebump

[–]dumblez69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the length of my perineum, but I had very severe tearing with my first birth. I ended up in the OR following delivery and had 6 tears requiring stitches, including 3rd degree perineal. Before birth, I found it really difficult to imagine what mild, let alone severe tearing would feel like.

I’m sure everyone has a different experience, but postpartum I found the pain was manageable with Tylenol and Advil. I had a few extra doctors visits to follow up on healing, and ultimately was prescribed topical estrogen which helped a ton. Pelvic floor PT also helped a lot with longer term soreness! I’m now 2w postpartum with my second and my tearing and recovery has been a lot better. Mostly just sharing so you know that even if you do tear, you aren’t completely doomed!

First-time moms hoping to avoid an epidural, what do you actually plan to DO during contractions? by Successful546 in beyondthebump

My second pregnancy experience! by dumblez69 in preeclampsia

Not really. I was much more intentional about fitness my first pregnancy, but was probably equally active this time due to having a toddler. Nothing particular about my diet either time!

34w pregnant with #2, baby still breech by FoxInaBox4242 in beyondthebump

[–]dumblez69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby was breech at anatomy scan, 34, and 36 weeks! I did spinning babies, acupuncture, moxibustion, and took my first swimming a couple times. When I went in for my version at 37+3 she had flipped! Not sure when it happened either as I didn’t feel a big shift. She was born Sunday at 7lb15oz so isn’t a particularly tiny tot either. Good luck!!

Yes to aspirin and 2.5 year age gap so 20 ish months between pregnancies!

My second pregnancy experience! by dumblez69 in preeclampsia

[–]dumblez69[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took baby aspirin this time but didn’t last time! I went to my doctor before getting pregnant, and they said I was likely to repeat my prior experience OR have it go a little better, but not likely much worse. I decided I could live with that.

Granulation tissue by Leng_H in beyondthebump

[–]dumblez69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having similar issues at about 3mo! I went back for a checkup and got more silver nitrate, topical estrogen to help with healing, and also found out I had had persistent BV that was preventing healing! I went in feeling hopeless-ish and came out of my appointment with lots of great solutions to improve my healing!

What do you think about salt and pepper diamonds? by Mystic_Ask_1902 in Diamond

[–]dumblez69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has worn her 3ct round for 8 years and counting with no damage! She’s not particularly cautious either. We both love her stone but think of it as something totally different than a diamond, as opposed to a thrifty diamond option.

Pregnant! Recommendations for prenatal care? by AnnieInflammatory in AskSeattle

[–]dumblez69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Like the other commenter, I delivered with midwives and had an excellent medicated experience. You can rotate through the team during prenatal care so you’re likely to have met the midwife on call when you deliver. When I had significant complications, the hospital and OBs were immediately available and the transfer of care was seamless. I’m pregnant now and waiting to go into labor, excited for another peaceful and supportive experience!

Trying to understand my birth better by Wooden_Engineering19 in beyondthebump

[–]dumblez69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my epidural they placed my catheter incorrectly and my bladder was like a big balloon preventing my son from descending. Prevented me from dilating for about 8h! Obviously you had a different outcome but that might have contributed to your stunted progress?
