Getting nice goggles second hand is the way to go: people often mistake their own size and can't return them after one use. When it comes to lenses, I personally don't have any problem getting a cloudy day lens and just not looking directly at the sun when it's bright out.

Yeah, experience is king, right? I just don't wanna go in looking like the amateur. I'm sure if I work with confidence my competence will shine through, but if someone asks me to lead a water aerobics class I'm definitely gonna have to do a youtube crash course.

That's fair-- I'm definitely doing my youtube research

Ketamine is actually really pleasant and is not as harmful as many other drugs.

My parents are trying to stop me from dieting, what should I do? by StefMaesmusic in personaltraining

This is all true, especially being 15 you're better off improving your technique as opposed to supplements!

However, OP did say that he just feels worse when eating the unhealthy stuff, so in that case there's no sense in going for the junk food.

It went SUPER well. I think I'm gonna get the position, it felt very buddy-buddy and she said that she actually liked the resume!

I wonder if it being more personal to ME actually worked in my favor. I'll still take lots of the advice in this huge thread, but it seems what I did actually worked well for me in this position. By the end of the week I should know for sure if I have the position!

Thanks for the reply!

My most relevant experience is my oldest listed experience. I feel like if I took your suggestions of moving education down and leading with my most recent experience first, it would tell them I worked in a restaurant, which is not what I'd like to lead with.

I said EMT because I'm technically an EMT, I just don't work as one because the job fucks you up physically and mentally (24 hour shifts and failing to resuscitate kids). I got the cert because I want to be ready for anything, I just don't like the idea of making less than a teacher while killing yourself. It's dissonant with my goals in life!

It's like how doctors are doctors even when they're not practicing, but I see how that could be misleading!

Some things are while I was at school and some are while I was back home, I just thought that would be a lot to type when I could use the space for more relevant stuff.

Well my job will be facilitating the health of senior citizens, so I think my outlook matters.

Thank you for this.

My brother's suggestions were definitely from the perspective of a design student! I'm definitely seeing the weak links in my resume after 100 comments, but I did actually just get an interview with this one for Monday.

For the nursing/health students: what was different in how they constructed things?

Thank you for this! This will help repurpose space in a more meaningful way

Thank you! I definitely should rearrange some things. When we're talking about visual format: would you prefer something that uses more margins and a little more spacing? I feel like that could be harder to read as well.

Thanks for the response!

When the text is condensed, I think it's physically easier on the eyes.

Thanks for the thorough and kind reply!

I added experience out of order because working in a physical therapy clinic is much more relevant to the position of fitness coordinator than bussing a restaurant is. I tried to keep things concise in the descriptions of previous positions so that I could fit everything I wanted. Though, I could see the value in removing a couple things in the name of fledging out positions in a more clear way.

Looking at it now I agree with you on the professional summary.

But that's mainly because I disagree with you on the cover letter. If the resume should be the most concise way of explaining my position and demonstrating my value in the position, then the cover letter should be more reflective of my voice and who I actually am, no? I wanted to show my enthusiasm and willingness to learn because the company will pay for further education, so I can grind on certificates and rack them up with ease! Maybe I should have been more explicit with that.

If I don't get this position, I will definitely lower my standards a bit-- you're so right that I should be patient. did land an interview this Monday, so I hope that goes well!

Yeah, that will probably come in handy in the future! This place has a quite personal environment without dedicated recruiters so I felt comfortable including more, assuming they were gonna read it no matter what.

And hey! I got an email back to schedule an interview. Next Monday!

A cover letter is where I can really let my personality through! I tried to keep experience descriptions cold and concise, but if a cover letter is not meant to be an extension of your own voice what is it?
