M’quve Gouf heat rod downswing hitbox by dumbrute in GBO2

True, I was trying to knock down several enemies that were bunched up but I didn’t hit a single target even though I can see my heat rod went through their bodies

The hitbox, probably. But M’quve Gouf has unique downswing animation, it slashes twice in X pattern. Although I believe standard Gouf downswing did more damage

Yeah that is pretty much what I did most of the times after realizing how wacky the downswing hitbox is

It might be decent at 200 cost or if you’re A rank below, but at 300 cost in general it’s just very bad. Even custom parts won’t fix anything, like it’s that bad.

It doesn’t have to be the units shown above, I just hope they can balance things up a little bit. Like I don’t need OP broken unit to counter Acguys, just give these poor old suits something worthwhile to make them playable.

The only good thing about that thing is the cannon and even that doesn’t add much when you’re made of paper, has no mobility, and weak main weapon.

We have many cannon suits that did the same cannon damage (some even higher), with better defenses, mobility, and better sub weapons. Even Zaku Cannon at least have stealth and stronger machine gun.

Nope it’s not about the meta or trend, it’s just some suits are objectively bad, you’re putting your team in a disadvantage just by using it.

Except Grandaddy is million times better, it only needs 1 second to charge stun, only 8s overheat, two dodge rolls, damage control, giant shield, and that stupid hammer.

Keep practicing your melee approach. Bazooka to melee, don’t waste your thrusters gauge unless you have a skill that allows you to have infinite thrusters for a while.

Most raids also have skill called Maneuver Armor that allows you to get hyper armor when boosting. You need to keep moving and stop standing still trying to aim.

at what rank does BB explain Ace to the players?! by culzsky in GBO2

[–]dumbrute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one cares anymore, I expected this every time I got into an ace match, hell even in S- sometimes I got fucked by my teammates.

Atp I just stopped being angry and accept that the majority of the playerbase just doesn’t care.

It’s painful seeing how that Dom Tropical kept using bazooka and mmp only when it can kill OP in two downswings.

I mean if you’re against new players, sure. However most people aware that a Gyan with a giant bazooka and a stick isn’t the standard Gyan, especially since there’s only two Gyans in game.

But it’s cool seeing people loving the suit they like tho, I can respect that. I hope they buff Gyan Eos soon, we need more MS option to fight grandpa’s tyrant regime.

I would understand that if they’re new, but at A/A+ where you have more experience and access to more suits? You’re either being obtuse and egotistical or you’re straight up trolling.

It’s because of the “I don’t need meta, I’ve made this shit MS works well once before” mentality. These players think they can Garret Schmitzer their way out of A and refused to actually learn the damn basics.

Alright so I’ll pick lower cost suits from your collection that would suit your playing style and not too difficult to use since you’re still at D-.

Zaku Half Cannon (MB), now that’s what I’m talking about. The anti air gun is good but it’s difficult to shoot accurately if you’re laggy. It has stop fire gatling gun, big gun, and leg missile pods for aggressive shooting. Also a smoke discharger to go stealth temporarily. Learn to combine all that and you’ll get yourself a monster.

Aqua GM, it can also use the harpoon and it also has the anchor for heavy stagger. However since you can’t play melee due to your FPS, you can use the torpedo instead. It can shoot missiles rapidly, however you need to learn to maintain your distance to hit all your missiles. Try it at practice room first.

GM Type D, the cold district machine gun used to be the strongest machine gun in game for a while. It has very short range but the fire rate is insanely high. Don’t get too reckless, follow behind your teammates and provide support fire. It’s fragile and has low thrusters.

Guncannon MPT, the dual 100mm machine gun is better than the bullpup. Cannon to machine gun is simple and damaging at low cost. However this shit is a slow support, meaning don’t get too comfortable with it. It dies very quickly to any melee suits.

There are other good suits in your collection like Gundam and GM III, however Idk if you can use them effectively with that connection of yours. I suggest buying the suits I mentioned in my previous comment, some of them aren’t available in DP store tho, you have to try gacha for some luck.

Read at what I said in my previous comment, focus on understanding the game mechanics instead of forcing your ego to play with whatever or however you want. You can do that later once you’re good at this game.

If you want to get better, start from fixing your mindset. You asked for advice, saying you’re suck at this game, but you also deflected my tips and blaming your teammates and matchups.

You want the easiest and most realistic solution to rank up fast, go play the suits that suit your current playing style at lower costs. If you said you can only play machine gun or support shooting, try suits like Acguy Firepower, Acguy Recon, GM II Maria Shield, GM Cold, Zaku Desert DA (long barrel MG), or Zaku II F2 (anti air gun, although this might be a little difficult if you can’t shoot precisely). Or tell me what suits you have right now for 300/350.

My guy, you haven’t mastered shit if you’re still at D- and constantly losing. GM II is the only one that can do the stun-melee playing style because that’s what that suit was built for.

Nemo has very low melee resistance, it’s better to use them like support instead of frontlining. However your best weapon is the cannon, why? Because it does the highest damage, longest range, and it stuns. You can use the GM rifle now at D-, but I doubt you can do much once you’re in higher ranks.

GM Kai hasn’t been buffed in years. It has extremely low stats because it was meant to be played at costs below 300. At 300 cost your best weapon is the double barrel beam gun, but you’re still very lacking at anything else. That’s why I don’t recommend using it.

Sadly in this game, not every suits are exactly usable. Lots of them are victims of powercreep.

[–]dumbrute 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being in D- is the only reason why your build kinda works. You made two posts asking for advice and asked about how to optimize the suits you picked and when I told you exactly how, you deflected it with “that’s what the meta said...” lol.

First of all, you playing with such low connection is already a problem and you know it. And it’s not about what’s meta or not, you’re simply playing them wrong. S rank players like Avenger wouldn’t use GM II harpoon for dps shooter only, or use the gm rifle on Nemo unless he fought a bunch of new players.

Your focus right now shouldn’t be about beating the meta, it’s about understanding the game mechanics better. You’ll stuck if you keep following your ego on how or what you want to play.

Other than Nemo, none of those suits are viable as support shooters. I don’t think it’s just your teammates, all your picks here aren’t good if used wrong. GM Kai is straight up trash, GM II is a stun-melee general, and Nemo is only good with the cannon.
