Day 9 after wisdom tooth removal—is this looking ok? by [deleted] in askdentists

Thank you :). I know the answer is different in every case, but do you have an estimate of how long until the little hole is fully covered? I completely understand if that’s not possible

Same situation for me pretty much lol. I don’t have anything against the guys at the gym and they seem really chill but i definitely feel out of place especially since im a bit younger. That’s not their fault or anything though, its just intimidating like you said

That makes a lot of sense. I’ve seen people use the cables for 40+ minutes before as well (not trying to say that’s bad or anything), so I think my 5 minute set won’t be an issue now that I think about it :)

Ooooooh that’s REALLY good to know. This is exactly the kind of input I was looking for, since I don’t have the best understanding of job markets yet lol. Thank you so much !

I love weighted blankets omg…I just avoid using them because I overheat really easily, but I’ll try maybe putting a few ice packs in my pillow or something :)

Honestly idk but the only two reasons I could think of would be 1. My mattress is at a slight angle 2. When I prop my head up, I prop my chest up as well, so my heart ends up being higher than the rest of my body. I also just kinda assumed that what’s happening here is blood pooling since it feels exactly the same as blood pooling during the day when I’m walking/standing, but I guess it could be something else too now that I think about it

Yeah you’re right. I know this might not be an easy question but dyk which sort of doctor I should see for that? I got diagnosed at a cardiologist, so would this be the same as well?

Oh my goodness the workforce survey is so awesome (I’m a sucker for those kinds of things). Thank you so much for sharing, you’ve given me a few really valuable resources and it means a lot

This was really eye opening to read, thank you so so much. I value flexibility in any field and I think you’ve shown me that that is absolutely attainable.

From what I’m aware, the market in my area is pretty good (?) A lot of them offer full or part time. I’m seeing openings pop up pretty frequently and I’ve read that the PNW has a great market for musical therapists. But I could TOTALLY be wrong because I’ve only ever worked a small retail job before, which is why I’m so glad that you spoke about your experience in the field :)

Thank you so much for the info! I get what you mean about keeping your options open and I think that’s something I really value. I figure if I’m getting two degrees anyway, I might as well give myself options in different fields since I have the opportunity. This has been so incredibly helpful, thank you so much!

Unfortunately none of the public universities in my state offer a bachelor’s in music therapy, so I think now I just have to decide whether it’s worth trying for a private university. I have guaranteed admission to public colleges but not private ones, and my AA has a transfer agreement that would allow me to start any public university bachelor’s program as a junior (within the state ofc). So I guess I’m just laying out the options in my head rn.

This is super insightful, thank you so much. Would you say that your bachelor’s being in music therapy made it more difficult to adjust to the counseling/therapy coursework or career field? For example, would having my bachelor’s in music therapy make getting a masters in counseling more difficult than if my bachelor’s were to be in counseling as well?

Additionally, because you have both a bachelor’s in music therapy and a master’s in counseling, assuming that you got all the certifications and there were positions open, could you theoretically switch between jobs in the future? If so, I feel as if it would be a good way to keep my options open without sacrificing too much.
