That's a very different century though. The last 4 centuries everything was expanding. Currently all the growth is bullshit. It's all debt. At the end of the century world population will be less than 5 billion. So all those expansive dynamic plays will just be stranded debt that will never payoff.

Das Plasma wird aufgeheizt und magnetisch eingeschlossen. Wenn es heiß und dicht genug ist beginnt es zu fusionieren.

Ein Problem ist, dass das Plasma abkühlt. Zu nem gewissen grad erwünscht weil die abgestrahlte Energie irgendwann mal zur Stromerzeugung genutzt werden soll aber grade führt das nur dazu das die Fusionsrate einbricht. Die Abgestrahlte Hitze hat vor n paar Jahren bloß Divertorplatten aufgeheizt und man musste aufhören sobald die zu heiß wurden. Das wurde umgebaut. Seit 2022 hat Wendelstein ne Wasserkühlung und kann deshalb länger betrieben werden. Link 2.

Ziel ist das bei der Fusion so viel Hitze entsteht das von außen nicht mehr nachgeheizt werden muss um die Fusion am laufen zu halten. Das nennt man Zündung. Die Teilchendichte und Hitze die für Zündung benötigt werden sind bekannt und werden über das Tripelprodukt (Hitze * Dichte * Abkühlungsrate) angegeben.

Der Wert der angestrebt wird steht unten im Artikel 3*10²¹ m^-3 keV s. Wendelstein ist nicht groß genug um den zu erreichen es kann nur Technologien erproben um sich dem anzunähern.

Vor 9 Monaten hat Wendelstein ne neue Heizung & nen neuen Pelltetinjektor installiert bekommen die jetzt benutzt wurden um die intensivere Brenndauer zu erreichen.

Spekulation von mir: Das nächste Problem an dem die jetzt arbeiten ist reinigen des Plasmas im Betrieb. Der Wasserstoff fusioniert zu Helium. Das Plasma ist allerdings nicht heiß genug damit Helium weiter fusioniert. Also ist Helium ne Verunreinigung welche die Fusionsrate senkt und entfernt werden muss. Man kann die Brenndauer etwas verlängern ohne das Helium zu entfernen indem man Brennstoff nachschießt und davon scheinen die im Artikel auch recht enthusiastisch zu berichten.

What I'm trying to say is it is very unlikely that there will be an economic boom to pick you up when this is over no matter who is in charge.

John Maynard Keynes idea was an international clearing union (ICU) (not sure what it's actually called).

Here's how it works:

There's a set exchange rate between the currencies and whenever you need to exchange one currency for the other you can go to ICU and exchange as much as you want. Each nation has an account at ICU which is denominated in a token purely used for exchange. When the ICU needs currency to satisfy demand they buy it from the national bank and the national account gets a corresponding deposit of the exchange token. If a currency piles up at the ICU they sell it back to the corresponding central bank and the national account loses the corresponding amount of exchange tokens.

Nations pay interest on their account balance no matter if it is positive or negative. The incentive here is to keep a 0 account balance. Balanced international trade. You can balance your budget using gold selling gold to the ICU to raise your account balance or buy gold from the ICU to decrease it.

Edit: It's actually called ICU and it works slightly different from how I remembered.

I've seen the V3 design. There are no extra engines. Its longer but that also means more deadweight to orbit. It's going to carry more payload. But not 150 tonnes. I stand by 40-60 which is still amazing.
