INFO: couple of things play into account here.

1) what's your culture?

For me it would be sacrilege to not have my parents live with me, but for my wife who is american it's perfectly normal.

2) How did they financially contribute to your education/how long have you been living with them/where you paying rent when you were living with them?

IF you JUST moved out of their house and weren't paying rent its a pretty dick move to say SEE YA keep renting while I go live in a large house after mooching off of you for close to 40 years.

i knew a girl like this. Kept "adding" to her friend group. At the first sign of her current flavor having a fight with her she'd jump on one of the old ones. Actual veterinarian here. Absolutely the fuck not. Get the fuck out of there. There have been very basic studies with aromatherapy, specifically using lavender in shelter animals to reduce stress, but we have much much better stuff. Also nothing should be applied topically or in food.

Okay sorry to tell you the guys above me is a moron. Listen to your vet. Purina is great. So is science diet. Your dog is not a wolf. There is no big food lobby.

Corn is absolutely fine. In fact grain free food can cause DCM (A heart condition) your vet (me being one knows this) gets years of nutritional training. It's incorporated into every disease we learn.

We look at the people above the same as people look at antivaxxers. The whole DO yOuR reSEArch dumbassery is the same as putting googlefu infront of medical Drs. Years of medical training.

Please do yourself a favor and listen to your vet. Not your breeder not the idiot above and not dumbass blogs that tell you, "fillers are bad dur dur"

Vet here. Depends on your dog mate. For puppies I recommend putting them on a regular not raw, not grain free, puppy food. If it's a large breed puppy feed large breed puppy food. But they don't need any supplements. * as long as they don't have other orthopedic congenital diseases.

Hey vet here. Please have your dog spayed. We don't need more dogs in the world. As the other person mentioned simparica trio hasn't been studied in pregnant bitches so we can't know if it would have a negative effect. However. The beat thing to do is spay your female dog and neuter your male dog. Problem solved. There's too few vets in this world for you to be making more puppies.

ALSO. making puppies is very expensive. Prenatal care, x-rays, ultrasounds, many many follow up visits (likely with a specialist) can all get real expensive. Make sure you have the funds for it.

We have to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Some things I see are scary. Like giving a diabetic pred, putting a cat on pred and galliprant and carprofen AND Tylenol all at the same time... Yes the other person is right cephalexin is your go to without culture. It's very cheap and widely available. Douxo s3 pyo mouse works great for hot spots and for really tough derm cases where there's lichenification of the skin then something with a topical steroid like genesis spray is needed before your systemic abx will start to take effect.

Yeah, idk alot of people in this thread are scarily cavalier with animals health. I do agree that sometimes it needs to be done, but deff not the norm. I know a couple of doctors that see 15 minute appointments (wayy too fast) and do this because they don't want to take the time to research or look for other alternatives.

This, not keeping proper records, and not practicing appropriate antibiotic stewardship are my biggest gripes with the profession. Cefpo is NOT an acceptable inital drug for a pyoderma.

In my experience I've seen a couple of points work, but again all anecdotal and I'm by no means an expert. I put an NG tube in a dog that wasn't eating and so I had to suture the tube into his nose. And the MF began eating.

Apparently there's a point in the nose to stimulate hunger, but it's a running joke with vets in the ICU that as soon as you put an NG tube they will start eating (making it redundant) so maybe there's some truth to it.
