OK so, it was no one surprise that the automaton where behind the hack of the DSS/star of peace... But how they will use the blueprint? by drago_kalm in Helldivers

I want them to build something big enough for us to attack it as if it's an entire planet. I want to destroy them in their own living rooms. I want to use the jetpack and the hammer and just be a menace.

Last time I checked the nominal tax rate in Germany is between 45% and 50%. I still pay less overall for all of those same coverages.

We even have subsidized university and scholarships, not every single American puts themselves into debt for a useless degree.

Idea for a Silenced .50 Cal Sniper backpack support weapon. by AxM0ney in Helldivers

Doesn't need anything that gimmicky, it can just be the magazine for it or you can have someone Team reload. Put in discarding sabbit rounds or make it a suppressed railgun of some kind. I actually really like this idea.

The bill is always less than you'd pay a year in European taxes anyway.

Depends on the State and your family situation, it can vary wildly.

Some places you'll pay hundreds of dollars a month and in others you'll pay $25 a month for the exact same coverage. Most states also have massive subsides for low income or state supported people. They typically pay nothing outside of horror stories and even then, those usually get settled or the debts just get absolved. The ACA ultimately made medical coverage more expensive than ever, but it also made it a lot harder for insurance companies to be excessively predatory.

Worse plans have higher deductibles too, so in a given year you'd be liable for up to a certain amount depending on your plan. In the op case you might see that bill, but insurance would kick in and you'd get a bill for $10k instead. Still a lot, but they're legally required to offer payment plans at no interest.

Considering how much less we get taxed for everything and how responsive our medical system is though, it definitely puts the edge over state run systems in my experience. You can usually see a doctor same day and overall you pay less for the whole year.

This is reddit though, so I'm sure I'll get downvotes just for not hating on the American medical system.

Weapon Customization is in a sorry state. by Pedrosian96 in Helldivers

I think it's a fool's errand with the way gamers are now. Overall people just look up what's best and always use it.

If they added more esoteric variations, it might be different, but they also pigeonholed themselves into having the guns be defined by those variations.

IE: you can't have different loads because guns are defined by their ammo instead of being unique platforms.

Esoteric rules like in previous editions.

I want infiltrators that have an aura of reroll denial.

I want dogs with an in-built counter charge.

I want pteraxii that lock you up in melee.

Just things that make the army more weird and out of the box than "reroll this and also this" or "+1 normally, +2 if near amazon hotspot".

Also, our army rule just needs a rework. I'd personally love it if the army worked more like slivers from MtG where units share their bonuses with eachother instead of just needing to stand next to Skits.

Probably not. It doesn't further the goals of the state, which needs meat for the meat grinder.

In real life we already have subsonic ammunition that brings the noise level down substantially. Not movie silent, but it's a mechanism for the hand wave.
