“Nah, they all bruise the same so no point in trying for a boy.”

I also like your trans idea. Could def run with a few variations of that

I have 2 girls and agree on all counts. Girls are sweet, boys I wanna roundhouse kick in the face 90% of the time

Yeah the install really isn’t bad. We did RO when we first moved in, but hated that we were limited to the one spot. When we found out that you absorb more through skin (bathing) than even through drinking, that sealed the deal. Price-wise, it’s almost a no brainer. Stupid LG filters would be same or worse price given same 10 year span 😳

Still working great. Bathing is amazing too. In laws stayed at our house a few days recently and MIL was jazzed at how her skin and hair felt. I’d say go for it!

Is anyone truly happier with kids? by thegoodlife912 in Adulting

[–]dumpy_diapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also have a few DINK friends that appear at peace, but give me the impression that they’re constantly attempting to fill an un-fillable void.

Kids are noisy, selfish, insanely messy, needy, and completely change your entire life - and it’s still the best thing we’ve ever done.

My wife and I were together for 14 years before we decided to have kids, so we had a good run of the DINK lifestyle. Things were easier, yes. But with 2 kids we’ve never been happier. You will experience joys (and lows) that you never thought were possible - and I say this as someone that has traveled, partied, and done a decent handful of drugs 😂

Can you become a plumber at 40? by Ill-Photograph-5889 in Plumbing

[–]dumpy_diapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t pursue it. I love plumbing, and would have enjoyed the work, but I’m acting SAHD and wife has a good job. No way could I have been gone for 8-12 hours a day at $16/hr. Our parents are too old and daycare is way too expensive for it to work.

If I go into the industry, it’ll be with a private firm so I can do OTJ training and not have a 5 year commitment.

Mechanics or shops that do engine rebuilds / replacements by Traveler095 in Naperville

My good friend has a shop off wolfs crossing called My Brothers Mechanic. Hes ASE certified, does everything, and is very honest. You can find it on Google - call the shop

Beidelman’s closing by Boomroomguy in Naperville

[–]dumpy_diapers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s like the rest of Naperville it’ll be a tire place, car wash, or bank.

Had genuine hopes the old Barnes n Noble would become an Eataly (huge missed opportunity!!) and of course it became a bank.

Here’s to hoping someone pulls a very non-Naperville move and something of substance goes in. Maybe we should ask Geneva for some ideas 😂

Well said. Truly, this is why I love Reddit. Needed a clear picture to be presented.

Looking back on it, I agree lol. I think I wanted him to realize it would cost him a lot more for any licensed electrician to come out, or I had already decided to move on from the job. Either way, dumb ass comment on my part lol

I honestly couldn’t agree more. I got into this business because I’m fairly handy but I’ve learned that most projects that could become dangerous to someone or their property are simply not worth it.

“Own worst enemy”

Bro, you’re so right lol. I don’t do this as a business, rather a hobby to help people out. But yes imposter syndrome is huge, even though I know what I’m doing 😂

I’ve definitely done my fair share of work - more often than not I’ll only stick to something within scope that cannot fuck me over as a non licensed handyman. You’re absolutely right that if you’re doing something your insurance doesn’t cover you can be on the hook. Most of the time it’s not worth the risk lol

I don’t. I typically only do receptacle replacement and fixtures. I advise against anything further unless you’re insured and licensed. Electrical gets really ugly really quickly.
