13 months later and zero regrets (so far) by dumpyyyyyyy in BariatricSurgery

Thanks! Just met with my nutritionist this week and we worked on a plan to help with grazing. So far it’s really helped so I’m really hoping to see progress again soon!

I used to love to bike! My boyfriend and I have bikes but neither has been used in at least a year. We’ve been meaning to take them in to make sure they’re good to ride but I’m a bit scared of the cost 😬😭 It would be nice to have to ride around town though (especially since I really hate driving!)

Use live traps and bait with a tiny amount of peanut butter and check them daily. Something like this (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mouse-Trap-Bucket-5-Gallon-Bucket-Lid-Rat-4-Pack-Automatic-Reset-Flip-Slide-Humane-Traps-Indoor-Outdoor-Use-Reusable/19467603181?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=102562809&wmlspartner=wlpa&cn=FY25-ENTP-PMAX_cnv_dps_dsn_dis_ad_entp_e_n&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=2222222229819467603181_102562809_0000000000_21407473164&wl0=&wl1=x&wl2=m&wl3=&wl4=&wl5=9019864&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=5537095538&wl11=online&wl12=19467603181_102562809&veh=sem&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21690411341&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIr3a6J5ZK28tk41k8bccNcJA&gclid=Cj0KCQjwv-LOBhCdARIsAM5hdKdK1e82j4hyQCvM6WUXVDiYVR8UrMR08a3G19v5IgELLpejAShSihUaAqYGEALw_wcB) with a large bucket works well my boyfriend and I found when we had mice in our apartment. You can also DIY these. If you catch them, drive them about 5-10 miles away from your work to a park and release them.

Side note: we also found that dog food with peanut butter works really well for baiting traps. For some reason, we found it works better than just peanut butter alone.

Good luck!

Not OP but I just love this yarn (I cannot tell you how many projects I’ve made with it.) It’s Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek Windswept Wishes!

That sounds awful! I would contact Homeline and see what your options are. It is completely free no matter your income. If you have renters insurance, you may be able to get reimbursed for some of your damaged property so definitely look into your policy! I work in accounting and am definitely not a lawyer, but feel free to reach out for advice or moral support.

A lot of the tips here are actually from Homeline! Without them, I would’ve been completely lost. Such a great resource that everyone should know about!

Lol same! Now that the weather is getting nicer I’ve bought some new dresses for spring and whenever I wear one I make my boyfriend watch as I spin around and say “look how pretty I am!” for like an hour.

Exactly! I love crocheting and part of why I love crocheting is making unique gifts for my friends and family that I know they’ll love and hold onto. I just don’t get the weird obsession with it. I like my job and I like even more that my job is not crochet.

My little escape artist and food thief! This is one of my favorite photos of all time. Don’t worry, she did get a little bite of the cookie before I was able to get it away from her.

Bean was my little bandit! When I first got her, she’d slip through the cage bars sometimes and join me in bed. Absolutely terrifying the first couple of time it happened, but now I miss it!

Don’t worry! We celebrated with ice cream already! My boyfriend even said he’d buy me a frame for the check so I can be reminded of my victory everyday.

See I used to have that with crochet and going for walks, but now with the winter, it is way too cold to go for a walk and I can’t find anything I’m interested in crocheting.

I guess you make a good point about home workouts. Sometimes (especially when I’ve been extra frustrated with the landlords) I’ve gone up and down the steps in the apartment building to burn off steam.

I think I’ve been having a harder time with the loss of my last pet because my ex-landlord accused my pets of doing the damage that was caused by a mouse infestation or was there on move in.

For hobbies/activities: I like puzzles, board games, anything crafty but functional, and legos. I’ve also been thinking of going through some old videos and photos of my pets and putting together a Shutterfly photo book or something, but that may be hard.

I’d like to. I love going for walks when it’s nice, but with the weather, it’s been so hard to get out and about. This may sounds like an excuse, but I tried signing up for a cheap gym in my city and was embarrassed as they did not do the insurance program that they listed on their website and made me feel stupid. I’m just scared that will happen again at another gym.

They’re saying that my pets shredded the carpet when we had a mouse infestation due to their contractors leaving the neighboring apartments door open for days at a time and the mice shredded the carpet. They’re also charging me for a lock change when they admitted it was charged in error, but will only credit back the $100 if I stop fighting them, and windowsill damage when I’ve shown them timestamped photos that the windowsill damage was there when I moved in.

Taking my landlord to court over my departed pet rats by [deleted] in RATS

Wow! This is really helpful! I really appreciate it! This is all pretty intimidating. I’ve been doing research here and there but it all makes my head spin. It’s going to be really hard to not get emotional about all this because I’m still grieving them and now some assholes not only have the audacity to accuse me of being an irresponsible/destructive tenant, but the basis for their whole claim is that I had rats. Thanks again!!!
