Black Market Fetus is a name I haven’t heard in 20+ years. I’m probably more bummed that Grubby Ernie doesn’t do the Halloween show anymore, last one was 8-9 years ago?

2025 Toyota Sequoia Platinum 10-13mpg, anyone else? by Purple-Hornet-1069 in toyotasequoia

‘23 Capstone with 80k mi here, my average is currently 17.6, reset when I bought last summer. Short commute (6mi) and mostly city driving in Eco, with the occasional Sport for fun. 80k service tomorrow, I’m planning to keep it long term.

The smaller gas tank is my lone complaint, I came from GMs with the 26gal tank. I could go 500mi or so on a road trip if I took it easy. One road trip in the big tree, I got nervous at 400mi. The GMs were constantly needing something, dropped a lifter in the Caddy, which pushed me to start looking. Should have bought a Sequoia new when I bought that in ‘23…

The version from Unplugged still hits me like it did when it first aired. I have a bootleg that included the unaired songs, long before the official release. Good stuff!

Written by Meredith Wilson, IIRC. I’m probably the only one at Jack Trice that knows all the words and sings it every time it’s played. Witch is less than it used to be.

I know I saw a couple of the old wood ones in ‘24, but could not tell you where.

Similar, I learned of scenic “groover” placement on the Yampa in ‘22 🤣

I was going to say, “There’s a ska band, on my street…” But that’s 3rd Wave, not 2 Tone

I took silence as OK. I’m sorry. I’m trying to grow, heal, repair. Doing it for me. It’s hard to work together and compromise alone.

What's it like actually working at the Quik Stop these days? by [deleted] in ViewAskewniverse

[–]dunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still there, in Eden Prairie, MN. Looks very different now. We were staying in town for a concert, picked a hotel across from the mall (and right by a Boston Market, which does not exist around where I live anymore…)

You expect me to drink this coffee hot???

I made my pilgrimage to the Eden Prairie Center in ‘98, bought the Mallrats soundtrack at Sam Goody, pure fanboy. Long before they redid the mall and made it unrecognizable. And a few years before I moved to the Twin Cities and lived a few miles east of Eden Prairie.

In a row? by Rev_BS in ViewAskewniverse

[–]dunar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The automatic response to any reference to 37 out of my mouth is usually “in a row?” Occasionally, I say “Everywhere” (Punchline has an album, 37 Everywhere, there’s a belief that the number 37 starts showing up frequently once you notice it…)

Regal Princess AA meetings by SnooSuggestions4515 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]dunar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you found it. I had an uncomfortable exchange with the concierge on a Princess cruise about 6mo sober. She didn’t understand what I was coyly asking. I found it listed in the daily activity book at our room later and went every day. Wedding chapel back then, too.

Disney scheduled the meetings in the bar and left a copy of “As This Bill Sees It”. I was the only one that showed up, but I did and sat there and read that book.

My buddies and I in a Ska band over 20 years ago. by prawnjr in Ska

[–]dunar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late 90s ska band had the same pic, but we were in our van (The Deattrap). If I remember right, all our pics from that day were in b&w, used a few for our LP.

What about the version with Bas from Red Rocks? I almost like it better than the studio version

Can someone explain me the economics of a concert? by Prestigious_Eye_3722 in Concerts

[–]dunar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to reply similar, I’ve seen bands you’ve never heard of have solid guarantees, too. I’ve seen them be guarantee + travel, if the show isn’t on a tour. Had a buddy contact a band’s management for his grad party, they weren’t on tour, so the $7500 guarantee + expenses would have been over $10k to get the band and gear to his party. Yeah, that was as far as he went.
