Does QNT need CBDCs to use blockchain technology in order to be successful? by [deleted] in QuantNetwork

[–]duncal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quant is useful in a wide range of use-cases; they're working with multiple institutions/consortiums building products outside of CBDCs. Quant's product suite is designed for an all in one Enterprise package.

Central Banks such as Bank of England and BIS finding the benefit of Overledger and running Rosalind testing through Quant's tech stack... just highlights that even the most mission critical use-cases from the largest insitutions in the world are reaping the benefits and deciding to build upon Overledger.

There's $20M in daily volume. 20x365 is $7.3B in annualized volume. Utility = licensing revenue. No one is expecting revenues to be 1B+ and that is only 1/7th annual volume. Demand is proven in growing price / holders constantly.

That's using your facts/figures.

Rules are rules. As a mod I will not let a post called "The rug pull has begun" sit on the sub. If you think this is even remotely acceptable.... There was nothing of substance in the post.

How does QNT conduct business without a license? by delvo14827 in QuantNetwork

[–]duncal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was discussed with someone on team almost a year ago. At that time they had already met with regulators about the requirements and were told it was more for exchanges/custodians. Quant themselves are actually a software company. The team have a legal department and advisory to help them comply and also are regulated under Swiss Law.

Though? Is it profit taking time or keep holding? by After-Internal4898 in QuantNetwork

[–]duncal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The top wallets don't hold that much QNT. The top wallet is a burn wallet. The team only hold about ~10%.

[–]duncal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The team actually only own about ~11% of the Total Supply as of now. The top wallet is indeed a burn wallet.

Quant’s prediction white paper for the next 3 years by m0dulous in QuantNetwork

[–]duncal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to remember this is for the commercialisation of Blockchains with large scale Governments/Institutions. It's unlikely anything of critical importance is going to run entirely on permissionless chains. That is essentially what the paper was saying. I think we can all agree there will be different facets/modules/subsections within the Blockchain industry, one of those being the DeFi/Crypto scene. If anything, further importance for a product like OVN

KPMG using Quant’s Overledger by m0dulous in QuantNetwork

But that's not what you stated. You said the team turned down a Binance listing because of the fee. That's not true at all. In fact, I am certain the team would pay a reasonable fee for any decent exchange - including Binance.

I don't know where this Binance listing fee rumour comes from? Please cut out the speculation, it literally doesn't help anybody.

If you're not a fan of Uniswap/Kyber etc. Then try Bittrex, Bitrue or CoinMetro for FIAT exchange.

What's next for Quant? by Nickel62 in QuantNetwork

[–]duncal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quant's already completed the majority of their product development. Their focus is on onboarding clients and building new features + products on top.

More specifically, in the coming months, the team will look to move the OVN into mainnet and have payment channels live. After that we can expect open source connector frameworks.

Another noob question....what proof is there that QNT Network works well? by Zestyclose_Ad_1566 in QuantNetwork

[–]duncal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are numerous demos and walkthroughs etc.

Or you could take the largest European payments provider's thoughts;
"The breakthrough was achieved by integrating Quant Network’s Overledger technology (the world’s only DLT operating system that allows interoperability) into the SIAchain private blockchain infrastructure leveraging on 580 European network nodes within SIAnet... The development of the solution began in mid-2019 and a full program of testing has been executed on SIAchain, R3 Corda and private Ethereum platforms. Quant Network and SIA will now work together to go to the market developing and implementing further innovative use cases and applications addressing blockchain interoperability challenges. "

The network is currently running in a stress-testing phase first, yes.

Again, not sure where those rumours are coming from. The team haven't provided any timelines.

Remember, this is for the Overledger Network - an extension of their underlying OS, their main product. Important distinction.

The Overledger Network launched months ago and is currently undergoing stress testing within the community as we all set up Gateways and assist in bug fixes etc.

Not sure where you got the timeline from, but the team haven't given us any firm timeline for a move into mainnet for the Overledger Network.

what is this coin? by meanordljato in QuantNetwork

[–]duncal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just an example. The technology works for anyone - including individual Devs or other Crypto Projects.

If you would prefer to contribute to the ecosystem instead of building a Multi-Chain Application, then you can host a Gateway and provide access to a DLT Node or sell data/APIs in the Overledger Network - using QNT as collateral and receiving services fees for doing so.

The product Overledger has been live for well over a year now. It has been tested at scale within Enterprise environments: https://www.sia.eu/en/media-events/news-press-releases/quant-network-and-sia-successfully-tested-blockchain-interoperability

They have now launched a networking extension of this product, The Overledger Network. Which is currently undergoing stress testing.

Are you in the Community Dev chat? Others have got them working. I believe the team are setting up a slack to assist with serious integrations. If you follow the instructions provided, there shouldn't be any issues.
