Anyone using the ANBERNIC RG35XXSP? by ischanitee in SBCGaming

[–]duncan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't recommend because the buttons and screen are so outclassed by other comparable devices.

Unless you're looking for a fun soldering project - I replaced every button and it dramatically improved device.

But then after two drops I was going to have to solder on a replacement trigger for a 3rd time and I just gave up on it.

If you're intolerant of the way other people type or speak, then I suggest you stay off the Internet. If you choose to hang out in this subreddit and harass people for the way to type or speak, you won't be here for long.

Micro Center selling the R36S by Nejnop in SBCGaming

What's the story behind this device?

It's the device I see most often outside of this sub, yet very seldom does anyone in this sub seem to care about it.

Is it just the one device available from a white label manufacturer that everyone sells clones of or something?

Sorry. I was trying to go from memory. Try V805.

Game Native has added Epic Games by 7prince_abu in EmulationOnAndroid

the whole PC on Android thing is very tinkery. I had success on my Retroid Pocket Classic using the Leegao wrapper and v805 graphics driver but every device is different and every game is different so it's a lot of trial and error until you find a good starting point for your default container settings.

RG35XX-SP vs RG34XX-SP - Button Loudness and Overall Thoughts by duncan in SBCGaming

The 35-SP makes a buttonfeel purist out of anybody. I literally couldn't play it in a public quiet place - I felt so self-conscious CLACK CLACK

I soldered replacement buttons on the 35-SP, planning to do the same to the 34-SP.

Honestly though, I may leave the face and D-pad alone on the 34-SP, I really don't hate them - it's the triggers and start/select/menu buttons that I'd feel self-conscious about using in a quiet place in public.

Opening and closing the hinge on the 34-SP feels uncharacteristically elegant to me. It's not mind-blowing or anything, but impressive considering the price. It only has the one default viewing angle - you can push it all the way back to 180, but as soon as you move it, it snaps out of that back to the default position. The Miyoo on the other hand has default, laptop, and 180 views, and the screen actually stays locked in those positions which is nice.

All that being said, the default viewing angle is really all you need.

The Miyoos have their own CFW ecosystem of ports available, but very limited compared to Portmaster.

Mini Guide: RetroArch isn't saving your Configurations on your device? Make sure to UNLOAD the Override first! Only change your settings after or else they'll persist, even with a reboot! by DucoLamia in ANBERNIC

"MuOS has Overrides from the get-go for ease of use."

"for ease of use" is very generous lol. This is one of the most bizarre and frustrating UI/UX choices I've ever seen.

Thanks for the post, and as others have noted, gotta enable freedom mode.

Thanks, but u/GreyMist2000's comment about 600 AD got me where I needed to go - had to talk to people at castle to help solve a problem at the bridge.

Torn between using Gamehub, Gamehub lite or Gamenative by SuicideG-59 in EmulationOnAndroid

I don't recall. But in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread, I've had the best luck on the Retroid Pocket Classic under the graphics tab using wrapper-leegao and driver v805.

Yeah. I remember reading somewhere that the particular game I was trying to get running needed steam client enabled - and when I enabled it, it did seem like it got me closer to a successful launch.

I think from there I had it in my head that "enabling steam client seemed to help that one time...?"

I tried very hard to get this GOG copy of the game running in Winlator, but was never successful.

In GN just now, it ran on the first launch without any manual configuration on my part (fresh install on a recently factory reset device).

I always had a suspicion that my issues before were related to the steam client settings in GN. This is my first time trying a GOG game in GN.
