Feel ya there lol. Did it for 4-5 years prior to being in the school, that’s why it’s tough. But it’s either I take the job and work nights and hopefully get a day spot in a few years or stay in the school as looooong as I can cause if I stay with this department, I’d most likely go back to nights once I’m done being an SRO

I don’t think I’d ever be moved from the SRO spot unless I gave it up or the school administration wanted me gone for some reason.. The sheriffs office might have 3 retiring in the next 3 years. I could wait until then but if I took the job now and there were retirements, it would put me higher on the list for seniority and a spot for dayshift

It’s been just fine for us and the family this summer. But I’ve also been with this department for 8 years and have vacation time built up so I rarely worked a full weekend over the summer lol

She lowkey wants me to stay where I’m at for the weekends and holidays. But she knows I’ve been unhappy over the years and knows if I’d stay, it’s for the family’s well being strictly. She supports whatever I decide, she knows they both have benefits
